Cool Martin! I heard rumours before you really wanted the title this time, but it didn't look like you were going to get it (for us just sitting here in front of our keyboards). But what could we know? In the end you got it, great! - In TS as well!

I think it's pretty cool that Am titles were shared between good friends Vincent and Martin!

Congratulations to both new World Champions!

Home at last...

Post by Martin Drayton » Wed Sep 21, 2005 7:19 am

Just got back to Park City....What an epic trip! Thanks for the props, it was hard work...Especially racing Adam Schwippert, almost had to kill myself to do it. I think I was 1.4secs down after the 1st run and had to dig deep to run clean and fast to beat him, pumping so hard at the end that i pumped myself off the board trashing my knee, hip, both wrists and left hand! I feel like I have been run over and won't be taking any victory laps for a while. Mark my words, he will win the Pro event in a few years!!! After that race, I skated at a level that I probably never have before...Thanks for the wake-up call Adam.
Ain't it a bitch when the adrenaline wears off :(

This was before it swelled up...

What were the odds? Adam and John Ravitch from Roe raced each other, I raced the winner. Then I raced Steven King from Roe, Brad Jackman from Cascade...then Gareth Roe! Judy Oyama was the only Roe Am that I didn't race !!!!

I have to thank Julie, my wife, for believing in me and supporting me above and beyond the call of duty (and Maya for being a perfect little angel all week), also Gareth Roe and Steve Hopper for building me my dream board.
Gary, your Splitfires are the Dog's Bollox! Chris Chaput...Gotta love the green!

To the rest of the Roe Team...YOU RULE! Cool people, good friends and great racers.

UPC....Words fail me, thanks for pushing me, thanks for riding with me.

Peace,

Hey Man
I got the text message just shortly after a great session with Kevin and Trish.
We're all proud. See you in P.C. next Thursday and Sunday. And heal up the diggins.
