Let's see those Fatboys!

If you've got a Fatboy, lets see it!

Sugar T Cutaway (30x9.5, 19-21" WBs) with:
-110mm Gus front
-105mm Seismic rear
-80/85 trimmer Turner Avalons

I love it, my first slalom machine.

Swallow Tail is 34x9" set up with 25" WB (Axle to Axle)

Running Radikal Front / Indy Offset Rear.

This board is excellent for Hybrid and GS. Plenty of room on the tail to increase the WB and a very simple changeover to increase front axle width. This board has excellent feel due to a super sweet medium flex pattern.

Shaggy Tway Vaughn is 29x8.5" with a 23" WB (Axle to Axle)

This ride excellent for TS. With its stiff flex pattern, it offers a nice quick response. And with the PVD's, it doesn't get much smoother.

Avalon 80's all around.

I dig the Sugar T Cutaway...

Adam,

YeeeHaaw!

Nice board.

Remember though, if it is built specific to your low weight, don't let any fatboys ride it.

Use your homemade board for a loaner.

thanks joe, this thing looks beautiful! based on the flex that i get when i stand on it i feel safe letting people up to 160lbs stand on it.

my homemade as a loaner sounds like a great idea if i could get my hands on a cheap rear truck and some cheap cambrias or stingers.

do you still have those 84a/81a stingers?

and are you currently recruiting for team fatboy? ;)

Camber height on Fatboy's

Post by Paul Howard » Thu Oct 20, 2005 5:02 am

Hey, if you take a straightedge and put it on the bottom of the deck so that it is touching the edge(I'm assuming there is no concave) about where the axles align with the deck, and you measure the gap from your straightedge to the bottom of the deck, what is the measurement of the axle-to-axle camber? Measurements on any/all the decks pictured would be useful. Thanks-Paul

Paul,

Presently all decks are flat topped, the bottoms have the edges planed for additional wheel clearance and asthetics.

See you in NC,

Flat and Fat

Post by Paul Howard » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:17 am

Hey, Hmmm, I find I really like non-camber on the tighter courses with concave molded in for the front foot with no concave in the back foot area seems to work really well for me. Thanks for the info/reply. The Dixie Cup should be a good time, See you there!-Paul

That sounds like a good combo Paul. Fatboy is working on more sophisticated decks, but until they clear the stringent NJ testing and QC process, there is always Chicken foam.

Look forward to trying the Pauliwog in NC.

Team Fatboy?

Um, there's a little matter of buying beers and Ring Dings for everybody on the team. That or we beat you in. It's a dysfunctional pyramid scam kinda thing.

Nice board. Pull the wheelbase in to 17" and see how tight you can run on a decent slope (5, 5.5 feet?) The try it at 18" and 19". That way you know what the board can handle before you race it.

Look forward to seeing you at Fattypalooza in 2006.

But, can Mrs Fav sing?

Gotta check, the current Mrs Scooter is the singer in our band - if she's replaced, the new one's gotta be a singer

The current Mrs Scooter is the girl featured in the newest Fatboy ad in CW, and yes those scrapes are real - she's got the scars to show for it!

Get on the Fat Bus

Post by Joe Iacovelli » Thu Nov 03, 2005 7:00 pm

I need to try and steer this conversation back to Fatboy boards and the "Pro" team.

Fatboy and I have been sequesterd for the last fortnight on a vision quest. (As an aside it turns out Fatboy's spirit guide is the ghost of Tom Carvel, mine is the ghost of Joe Piscopo.)

Our most productive moments were culled from 36 hours in a Hopacong Indian sweatlodge strung out on Robitussin. During the portion of the discussion based around the "team", Fatty had a brilliant idea on initiation rights. Several "trials" where bandied about:

-Neophytes would need to steal the panties of the Needham Longboard Club.
-You have to fall backwards and trust me and Fatboy to catch you.
-Tway paddles all new members with their new board. (Griptape side up!)
-You have to wax Shaggy's head and give Cheri a pedicure. Or the other way around for extra "Fatty Points".
-New members will sleep under Scooters ramp and help with the swabbing.
-Blue for Cryps, Red for Bloods, Plaid for Fatboys
- Having at least one story that starts. "One night when Iacovelli and I were all hopped up on goofballs..."

But by far the idea that we and our spirit guides like best was;

After 24 hours of sensory deprivation (with the exception of the Punky Brewster "Uncomfortable Touch" episode on a continuous loop play on a 15 inch plasma screen on the roof of the salt tank), the candidate for membership screws his or her courage to the sticking place and stumbles from the tank. The candidate's big brother has prepared a red hot habachi barbeque, the fire comprised mostly of said candidates old quiver and bald tires. The candidate firmly grabs the habachi between both forearms and stumbles out into the snow.

Now the Fatboy twist is that unlike the Dragons burnt into Kwai Chang Caine's arms in the seminal 70's TV show, the High Holy Fatty Habachi will burn barcodes into your arms. On your left arm the barcode for The Weekly World News. On the right the barcode for YooHoo Choclate action drink. Both staples of the Fatboy Team training table and allowing you to just go ahead and scan yourself at the local Sip-n-Go.

More specifics as we think them up
