Rumblings at the "Factory"

Hey everyone, we have some stuff goin' on at Fatboy, figured we'd let ya' in on what's cookin'............other than pie!

We're gonna be doing a sweet Limited Edition Wentzle Ruml IV slalom deck, the Mothershucker. You'll see a blurb about it in the next CW under the heading of "Z-boy teams with F-boy". It's loosely based on our popular Fatass shape, but constructed in the Tradition of a vintage Taperkick with bamboo and hardwood stringers. These decks will be autographed by Wentzle himself UNDER the finish. Retail on these will be around $120 and they should be available in a few weeks. On an unrelated note, we'll also be offering Joe Iacovelli signature nipple rings, see Joe for details.

We're also gonna be offering foam wedge kits for our decks, or anyone else's for that matter! You get two pieces of foam: 20x4x1" and 20x2x1/2" respectively for $10

If any of you see me at a race, ask about the Feral Fatboy deck. It's a collaboration between Brian at Feral Arts and Fatboy. It's a glass wrapped bamboo concave deck and it's available through Feral. I believe it's gonna go for $110 or so, but don't quote me on that ;)

Check out Mile High Skates in ColoRADo (www.milehighskates.com), they're putting together a special slalom complete featuring a custom stain Fatboy deck. Hybrid/TS shapes are in stock and a GS model is in the works.

We should have t-shirts in stock again soon -$20. And yes, we're gonna expand our size selection!

And as always, we're still offering the complete line of longboards and slalom boards, each a custom design and hand built, equipped with hardware from Randal, Tracker, Seismic/3DM, Original, Revenge, Indy, ABEC11/Pink/Retro, eXkate, and Pillsbury;)

can you smell what Fatboy's cookin'?

cool stuff as always, fats. That big bambooey is sick, love how it turned out. Are you guys gonna be doing any experimenting with composites?

The only composite stuff we've worked on is a carbon wrap on the bottom of a thinner bamboo deck. We're waiting for delivery on the prototype. If it goes well, perhaps we'll add it to the line ;)

sorry to keep botherin ya, but is there a possibility we could see some snaps of that? I love the aesthetic of black carbon on the golden bamboo. I've been toying with the idea of getting you to do some frames for a foam core we're designin.

Fatboy is too modest to announce, but profits from the MotherShucker will be used to sponsor Wentzle at slalom races this year. So it's a multiple win;

1. It's a beautiful deck, the taperkick comparison is apt.

2. It is highly functional. Nice round surfstance shape with 4 wheels bases between 18.5 and 21.25.

3. Signed by a true legend and great story teller.

4. Since profits will be used to get Wentzle out to more races, you may get to race along side him. Cool thing is he is no different from you and me. He's just happy to be skating, enjoying the competition, and the company of other skaters. Wentzle left CA 25 years ago and didn't bring a skateboard with him. He is rediscovering the joy of the carve, just like a lot of us. It's cool to watch.

Cool stuff!!

Hey Fats, my Wife keeps bugging me to ask you about shorts with your logo on the ass, you think that's possible? ;)

For her? or You?

Hmmmmm..............

Actually, y'know what? Let's check with Tway on Sunday - his Mom has an embroidery machine, she might be able to do some logo stuff. Maybe if we give her a bunch of things to put the logo on, we can keep the costs down.

The website updates are almost finished fatty. They're taking forever because for some reason, the pages I had made got half deleted... leaving me with nothing but a couple of pictures in spots... Starting from scratch is no fun, but seeing the perfected product at the end will be worth it.

The Carbon Prototype is done. But after talking to the Don on saturday, we figured out it really wouldnt be cost effective for some home builders like us to do it. Blame it on the war. The stuff is scarce and what you can find is expensive. But, fiberglass is a still readily available and A LOT CHEAPER.

30% chance of rain. But there's a 30% chance of rain everywhere, there's been a 30% chance of rain here everyday this week. You really can't tell at this time of year.
