5 Glenn C 15.88
6 PSR 16.79
7 CMC 17.21"
It happened to me at the last da farm series out law. It started me thinking, I know Glenn and I both held the number 5 spot, but should the next fastest person take the 6th spot or the 7th because really there are 6 people ahead. What would the regulation be on this?
In some types of racing, this would be anounced as:
1 TK 14.40
2 Derek 15.31
3 Bryan 15.34
4 Ben 15.59
6 Karl 15.88
6 Glenn C 15.88
7 PSR 16.79
8 CMC 17.21
Meaning that Karl and Glenn tied for 6th because they only beat the people at place 7 and below.....

Karl,
That's easy. Think of it this way: with the tie, all those involved "gobble up" the number of placings equaling those with the same time.
So your placings are off a little bit:
1 TK
2 Derek
3 Bryan
4 Ben
5 Karl
5 Karl
7 PSR
8 CMC
Sometimes you'll see where all those eliminated in dual racing have the same final placing except the top three or four:
1
2
3
4
5
5
5
5
9
9
9
9
9
9
9
9
In other words everyone who didn't advance out of a bracket end up the same place (In this case, all those eliminated in the round of 16 tied for 9th place, all those eliminated in the round of 8 tied for 5th place.) If there is a jam format like y'all had then when two people have identical times, usually the names are listed alphabetically and they occupy all the sports corresponding to the number involved. So you did get it right to put "Floitgraf" ahead of "Smith," but PSR was 7th and CMC was 8th.
