You're absolutely right. It's about to happen, but there's been too much going on lately, so the rules section has been completely left aside.

Marcus is proposing that new world records only have to beat the old record by .01 seconds, not .05 --I know this is a little bit late and perhaps not the right thead, but I really don't see a reason for records having to be 0.05 seconds better. Is is 0.01 second better then its a new record I think. This is not high jump where you could beat the record with as little as possible lots of times. Anybody agree?
Would the same thinking carry over to Masters who wanted to race in Pro or Am as well? Although most wouldn't have the energy, being so old and decrepid...Pat Chewning wrote:Ramon is suggesting changing the current rule which calls for racers to race in one and only one class.Ramón Königshausen wrote:I think for Juniors it is very important to acquire racing experience and therefore they should be allowed to race both, Amateur AND Juniors category, if the want to.
Like this they get used to the racing rhytm and it won't be that much of a big step to race Amateur or Pro because they already know how it goes.
Furthermore I think that at races you always make the greatest progress and learn many things concerning mental strength...
That's just my opionion and I'd like to make this a suggestion for a Rules revision in 2009.

This is for the WORLD RECORD rules. Cone measurements center to center.Marcus Seyffarth wrote:I guess I'm a little late coming with input to the rules, but why really should there be a masters division (and how old should you be), and why don't you specify that it should be center to center and not xx ft/meters between cones. A common mistake by beginners is to set courses this way and it makes quite a big difference.

- does the ISSA have a logo? put it in the rulebook
- I would call it 'ISSA rulebook'
- ISSA can be mentioned in headline on every page
- is a pointy nose a safety hazard? a saftey hazard for who? rider/oponent/spectators
- list of world cup points per rank for each status
- why is there no index
- page number
- link to website - more dominant, bigger
- ISSA on the title page
- name of ISSA president and person responsible for the rules
- no pictures - this is a rulebook, not a presentation/portfolio of the sport
- why can you have more than two trucks if only 4 wheels are allowed?
- 'slalom' logo is cut of on the second page
- on some pages it might be good to move one title with only one line of text to the following page (..... 6. Calculation of time)
- 9.6 / 9.7 sloped surfaces ------> please no 'space' before 'Sloped'
