finally Flavio got me in this,we're having problems registering here...anyways; i'll be updating news on this event almost daily.For now whoever needs to get some more info can call the wave boys sk8 shop here in Brazil,our working hours are from 2pm to 7 pm atlantic time(that's a few hours back depending on which country you're at)or e mailing me :waveboys@gmail.com or trough Flavio.For now this event is confirmed,entry fee is R$30(WHICH IS APROX. $10 EUROS)reservations can be made through the fone or email;the event starts at 10 am and ends @ 5pm sharply practices will b going on every sunday morning till the event and on the day from 6am till the start.There will be a maximum of 64 racers,cuting down to 32 then to 16 then to 10;on this part each racer has two runs to do their best time(registered by fotocell equipment);time zeroes up from cut to cut;from the last 10 racers it cuts down to the final 4 which will have three chances to do their best time.Cone positioning is giant style in the first 6 cones then mixed with tight positioning on the remaining ones.Helmets will be required,pads are optional;the take off gate will be made from the front bumpers of two 50's cars(since there's no need for a take off ramp)you'll take off pulling from between them.Practices will be post weekly in waveboys.com.br ;There will be a chopper motorcycle fair going on at the same time as the event with chopper bikes,hot rods,booths,djs,beer,women,etc,etc...for now sponsors are:black flys,nike sb,tribo skate mag,wave boys sk8 shop,sector9,freestyle watches,spitfire,speed demons,itaipava beer,pocket pistols skates ; but a few more are getting in this week.Prizes are:1st=R$3000(about US$1500),2nd=R$2000,3rd=R$1000 and trofies and product 'till 10th place.The first 20 racers will be automatically qualified and will get free transpotation for our second event to be held sometime 'till october in south of Brazil.that's all for now!![/url]

I gotta tell you all about the GS slalom contest a friend of my, Bruno, one of the leading bowl skaters in Brasil back in the 70's and still a active skateboarder is putting together.

The event, the first ever post-70's GS slalom constest in Brasil (as you might already know the place I was born at) will happen on July the 29th in the city of Sao Paulo. They expect more than 50 competitors to show up from all over Brasil

And...this is not all. In October there will be another one. Much bigger and together with an international downhill race in the province of Santa Catarina in the south of the land. The local goverment has already site aside the equivalent of 12,000 Euros for the event.
