New 50 cones World Records set August 18 (approved Sept 12)
Men: Janis Kuzmins, Latvia, 9.77
Women: Lienite Skaraine, Latvia, 11.99
Women, junior: Anna Gailite, Latvia, 12.40

New world records set August 5: (approved Oct 7)
Men: http://youtu.be/fqRsmAPK8G4 Viking 9.436
Masters: http://youtu.be/12Altc1b_bE Mikael 9.826

Because we approved Janis Kuzmins' record earlier than Vikings, Janis still receives a diploma for his world record. Janis' record was the best approved time September 12 - October 7. We just need to keep it in mind for the history books, that this information can be somewhat confusing. Had the full documentation been available for Viking's record prior to our September 12 approval, we would not have acknowledged Janis record.

BTW how often/how long usually it takes time that these WorldRecord applications will be verified?
Naturally faster cycle would be better due it would attract more to make people try new records.
Currently i know, based on messages here that new 50 cone (2+3 records) and one 25 cone application existing but have not heard anything about decisions, for any of these.

i just went into it
kathrin was way faster here in the last fun-race we had than the previous world record-i would say we can go 1/2 sec faster with the times we had at the last session.
also i will check into juniors.
vincent runs the same course and this would be most interesting to see what a 12 year old can do
you can expect something soon i guess
we just need to set things up in a few weeks from now and make it.

Donald,

It's easy, just read the rules available in the Resources section (main menu above), then get your race together and just do it!
Submit all details to remove any doubt and also so that we can all be proud of the new world record. Go for it. The 50 cone record needs some challening I guess as it hasn't been around for so long.

hey...i have a question
i just went through this all and we had a session with timers, flat course,50 cones.
during that race kathrin sehl had a time of 11,753 secs on the course.
how do we get this official then?
there were enough people at the race to witness.

should we repeat this with video evidence?

kathrin can easily beat the 50 cone record with the times she had.
please let us know and we will repeat this if desired

On 18th August, 2012 in Riga, Uzvaras parks there were 3 new World records set in 50 cones (if, of course, Vikings record is still unofficial)!

Junior women: Anna Gailite – 12:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj-1dpbJm9c
Women: Lienite Skaraine – 11:99 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKpwi8ktZXM
Men: Janis Kuzmins – 9:77 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luv_Rk21NRc

Submit the following information to the ISSA Secretary (PM sent ;) ):
• Name of contest director: Gustavs Gailitis, president of Latvian skateboarding federation
• Location of contest: Latvia, Riga
• Date of contest: 18th August, 2012
All the riders had 2 attempts in the the first one Anna managed to beat not only Womenjunior but also Women record - just one minute later Lienite beat her record by 0.41! Janis set his record on first run. In second run nobody improved their new records!
• Name of racer, time, (cone penalties):
Anna Gailite 12:40 no cone penalties
Lienite Skaraine 11.99 no cone penalties
Janis Kuzmins 9.77 no cone penalties
• Course documentation:
The course was marked & measured already in 2008, during the ISSA World record attempt weekend – we re-measured to make sure it is 160cm center to center, 50 cones. The course is flat (some international guys like John Gilmour and Dominik Kowalski can approve it, because they have been there), in 2009 men 50cone record was made there (9:82) by me, Gustavs Gailitis. The course still is with great pavement, that is why it is fast and grippy. There was no wind during the record attempts. We used Professional timing equipment from our national skiing team (the same we used in 2nd day in Euros 2012).
• Attempts were made at ISSA-sanctioned events: It was sanctioned BASIC

Please submit to the ISSA Secretary (Ricardo Damborenea), but you can post here too if you like.

Extract from the World Record rules:
6.2. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
• A description of how the course was measured to be in compliance with the rules,
including cone spacing, course flatness, wind speed, and timing equipment
• Photographs of the course, including: Start line, Finish line, cone placement (to see if it is
straight).

6.3. WORLD RECORD SUBMITTAL
Submit the following information to the ISSA Secretary:
• Name of contest director
• Location of contest
• Date of contest
• Name of racer, time, (cone penalties)
• Course documentation

6.4. WORLD RECORD ADMINISTRATION
In order for the ISSA to accept a world record, the following must apply:
• Course documentation received
• Attempts were made at ISSA-sanctioned events.
• New world record time must be less than the old world record by 0.05 seconds or greater.
(the last rule, that is must be more than 0.05 better than the previous record is no longer valid. The ISSA BOD has voted to remove this rule, but the document has not yet been updated to reflect that change.

Thank you for the info. Sounds like it was a fast track due to all the records broken. Did you use startramp or push in? I assume there must be video from the race, it would be fun to see.

Sounds impossible that you were able to do three consecutive clean runs on the same hundred Raymundo. Impressive in its own way! With Janis and Ramon being so close in time, and also doing close consecutive times I guess the (male senior) record must be at a pretty good level by now.

Congratulations to Janis, Christopher, Irene and Zac for setting new records!

I will update the documents and send you world record diplomas as soon as possible (with my slow pace and tight schedule you can expect them by christmas ;-)

New World Records in Grenoble 2010

Post by Pierre Samray » Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:43 am

Here are the official time during the world record atemps on sathursday evening in Grenoble.

Congrats to Ramon and Janis who put the show till the end.

Ramon beat first the record with 9"799, 5 minutes later Janis answer with 9"780.
After that Ramon do with an incredible precision 9"790 two times! but let the record to Janis.

In the junior category: Christopher Dupont need 3 attempts (hitting cones each time before) to beat the record of the Spanish boy Daniel Navarro. Then he puts a perfect 10"421 better than his father so he takes the French record by the way.

At least 11 years old girl Irene Di Giorgio finish her run in 15"562. As far I know there was no official time for junior girl (or kid girl) before this so we can consider it a new record too.

To finish: Zaccario Di Giorgio 13 years old do it in less than 14" (I haven't the exact time but Jean Sebastien have all the results in his computer anyway... It can be consider as the new record for kids.

To finish: Lienite Skaraine was not so far from Lynn Kramer's record (0"40) It's a pity Sandrine was not here I'm sure she could do it too.

I made a new record in running the same time in 3 consecutive attempts: 9.79 (In other words: setting a new record and missing it 2 times by 0.01)

Janis got the new record 1x 9.78

Today as part of Outlawslalom #3 -WR weekend in Madrid, Daniel Navarro broke the Jr WR of 100 cones "clean" with 27,756 and the Jr WR of 100 cones w/ cone penalty with 24,612 (23,612 + 10 cones). At 16, this is a rider to watch.

Place: Parque del Oeste, Madrid. Tarmac, +/- 3% pitch.
100 cones, first 70 @1.80m and last 30 @ 1.90. Push start. No wind.
ISSA WR rules. Trakmate + excelmate timing.
23 riders attending.
Beautiful weather and finished with a picnic (spanish ham, good rioja wine, the whole lot)

Great fun and great records.

Video & pictures coming soon.

Ps: even with Dany breaking the Jr WR I (47 years old) won the event with 24,439 (23,539 + 9 cones), new Spanish record of 100 cones w/ cone penalty.

They are "Javi Boards", custom made by Dany's father (named Javi) with love, pride, foam, epoxy, fiber glass and some secret ingredients. He's an artist, I can tell you.

Sorry the youtube link to 50 cones Jr WR doesn't work, here's the new one:

Btw, today in day 2 of Outlawlslalom #3 - World Record Weekend Dany broke 100 cones clean and with cone penalty world records.

I'll post details soon!

Dany Navarro broke today the jr world record @ 50 cones...again

Today as part of Outlawslalom #3 organized by Madrid Old Skool Skaters Association (MOSS) (basic status http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/phpBB ... &highlight) Daniel Navarro -16- smashed AGAIN AND FOR THE THIRD TIME the Jr World Record of 50 cones, making 11,242 clean.

Course was 50 cones @ 1.60m, flat; push start; not significant wind. Spot was a parking lot provided by Inmofiban, one of the leading real state companies in Spain http://www.inmofibanservicios.com. Timing by trackmate + excelmate.

Here is the happy crew of 17 riders that participated in the event, congratulating Dany:

Congratulations to Dany! He has earned -repeatedly- the right to get into the WR holders "hall of fame".

Tomorrow as part of the second day of Outlawslalom #3 he will surely also break the Jr 100 cones record too!

We asked for "basic" status for our Outlawslalom #1 - WR weekend, which had to had taken place on the 6 & 7 of march. This is part of our Outlawslalom series for 2010, comprising 7 events with an average attendance of 30 riders.

Due to rain, we had to move the event to the 27 & 28 of march were we will go to break cyber, 50 and 100 cones records. As some people had problems on attending those dates, we set up an extra session for the Outlaw on the 13 of march, which is this one where the record was broken.

Course was 50 cones at 1.60m in flat surface on a bike path at Las Rosas in Madrid, push start. No wind. Start sensor on cone 1 and end sensor on cone 50. All riders had up to 4 tries. Just 3 riders did clean runs (their times above). We used trackmate & excelmate for timing. You can see the course in the video above. I also broke the Jr record, but I'm 47 :-(

Nice run!

According to the ISSA rules the event must be a sanctioned ISSA event of status at least Prime or a Basic event that states that it will be a world record attempt. I have looked in the 2010 calendar and cannot find such a race the 2010-03-13. Also you need to supply some documentation of the course (number of cones, distance, start/finishline) in order to get a valid record.

Until this is supplied to you run you have the unofficial jr world record.

I updated this thread with a link to the rules and a short version of the rules.

Anyways, we'll repeat the attempt with cones at 1.6m. I'm sure he will make it.

Does it need to be a flat surface? No hill even if modest? All 50 cones records in the pdf were in flat surface?

I totally get your point Ricardo. 1.60. Flat!

Can't be it.

Yeah, I agree, we should change this rule to "any 50 cones".
