In order to apply for a world record you need to follow these rules that ISSA have set:
http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/ISSA/ ... ecords.pdf

The short version is:
It must be a sanctioned ISSA event - posted in a correct time so that everyone can attend
You must run a course according to the rules
You must use approved timing equipment
You must document the course and send this documentation to an ISSA representative or have a ISSA rep at the race.

In my humble opinion you should run the 50 cones and cyber both ways and use the average in order to show that course is flat and there is no wind. But that is not necessary in order to get a WR.

Good Luck!

Well, you just did :)

And just because I created this topic, it does not mean I'm the one saying if a record is valid or not. Out of curiosity, did you run it both ways, how was the start? Judgeing from the times it gotta be considered pretty flat or some hill and low entry speed. I think 9.50 is a reasonable time at a good spot.

Here is an image what we can give for documentation. There will come a video as well.
It is possible to run it 9.50. we set the phote cells in the start more infront of the first Cones than behind (the opposit in the finish), but it is very hard to set the photocells which are about 5-7cm width in the center of a Cone.

we will have a video documentation as well, but this will need some time.

here is a picture which shows a bit the setup.

what i forgot: we set the course at 10.15am

Congratulations!

How was it done? Startramp, kick in or hill? Do you have any footage? What setup did you use?

We actually did a couple of tries at the 50 cone thing during a practice in may here in stockholm. But no one was able to break the old record even though we thought we had the perfect spot - fresh paved bike path that is flat (measured with laser level) that starts right after a long hill so you can just roll in from the hill and start wiggling. We did lots of times at 9.50 but always with 6-8 cones, so I guess we need more practice :)

Thank you, World champion ;)

I had approx 25m distance to the first cone so I kick in 3 times and pumped the rest of the way slowly to stay at normal speed towards the start (not too slow to stop and not too fast to become a popcorn machine)!

My brother has a bad quality video and I will try to put it on youtube.com but tomorrow it is Midsummer Day ( or St. John’s Day - national fiesta ) so it will not be easy ;)

About setup :
In the morning I put a new SKF bearings (I really felt the difference comparing with the other company ones I used before)!
Wheels - Seismic hotspots 81A back,84A front (just like in team ''Ettsexett'' in the Christmas poster :D) !
Trucks and bushings - both GOG trucks, rear with red and blue ''khiro'' barells, front with orange ''khiro''barell and white ''bitch''!
Board - ''Foxy,Raymondo,Ramonski PRO signature model''!

The place was not fresh paved (it was paved 3 years ago,I think) but it was made just for rollerskaters and runners so it still is perfect (actually, when John Gilmour was in Latvia last year, we had a training there with him,so he knows the place. And I heard that someone saw Dom last year crossing the place last year before World cup...)
The place was (is) flat - just like our country :D

As I wrote in ''Slalom contests in Latvia'' Janis did 9.49 but with 8 cones,so your practice results are almost the same ;)

New world record on 50 cones in junior categorie for Christopher Dupont!

Place : ISOLA / FRANCE
Race : French championship
Date : June 20, 2009
50 cones : 1m70. Corect asphalt, star ramp and unfortunatly, wind in front of the race.
Christopher Dupont, 15 years old do a perfect 12"192 on his second atemps during the qualifications of the tight slalom 50 cones. It took the 5th place of the race.
No doubt he could be better if he had more atemps, but after the qualifications we move the time setter from the first cone to the ramp to race the dual final.
According to me. He has the possibility to put a 11"5 soon.

Vincent Berruchon win the race and the qualification with 11"08. It can be consider as the official french record.
Sandrine Ferreira put a 13"66 for the woman. Not so far from Lynn Kramer.

You can find all the result of these competition in Isola topic in the "Europe" section

Thank you for posting, and congratulations to Christopher!

I am not 100% sure about the rules and I don't know who officially say that it is a legimit record or not, but I believe the rules state that the race has to be either a prime, main or major OR basic and stated as "world record attempt" in order to be considered a valid record. Please let us know about the status of the race in order to be sure.

Either way I updated the current records above in the thread until some one who is a ISSA official tells us that this is right or wrong...

This race was normaly "Prime" even if all my messages to ask the status was without answer during one month, at the end Ramon told me it was "certainly" prime.
I announce it 3 month before : First we want to put a 100 cones. But thinking only french are coming it will be difficult for them to beat your record Markus.

This race is a part of the French championship which is official for our French rollerskating federation and which give the title at the end of the season.

For sure as I read, there is nothing really precise about record but it's a good thing to note all the best performance somewhere in each category.

Next year this race will be set again with an official 100 cones tentative... I can already tell you it will be about May :-)...maybe you'd be interested.

If you asked for prime, then I'm sure you got it so the record should be ok!

A race in France in May... Sounds familiar and lovely! :)

Place : Näsbypark, Stockholm, Sweden

Date : August 19, 2009
50 cone rules as of ISSA (50 cones @ 1.60 on flat ground - no displaced cones)

Today's session in Parque del Oeste, Madrid. No wind, +/- 3º pitch. 50 cones at 1.8m. Push start. Trackmate chrono w/ excelmate.

Best times:

Daniel Navarro (Junior)
- Best clean run 11,495
- Best run 11,199 (10,999 +2)

Ricardo Damborenea (Master)
- Best clean run 11,642
- Best run 11,184 (10,584 +6)

1.8m cones means he had to run 10 more meters than @1.60m, so the time is even more impressive?

Anyways, we'll repeat the attempt with cones at 1.6m. I'm sure he will make it.

Does it need to be a flat surface? No hill even if modest? All 50 cones records in the pdf were in flat surface?

Nice run!

According to the ISSA rules the event must be a sanctioned ISSA event of status at least Prime or a Basic event that states that it will be a world record attempt. I have looked in the 2010 calendar and cannot find such a race the 2010-03-13. Also you need to supply some documentation of the course (number of cones, distance, start/finishline) in order to get a valid record.

Until this is supplied to you run you have the unofficial jr world record.

I updated this thread with a link to the rules and a short version of the rules.

We asked for "basic" status for our Outlawslalom #1 - WR weekend, which had to had taken place on the 6 & 7 of march. This is part of our Outlawslalom series for 2010, comprising 7 events with an average attendance of 30 riders.

http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/phpBB ... &highlight

Due to rain, we had to move the event to the 27 & 28 of march were we will go to break cyber, 50 and 100 cones records. As some people had problems on attending those dates, we set up an extra session for the Outlaw on the 13 of march, which is this one where the record was broken.

Course was 50 cones at 1.60m in flat surface on a bike path at Las Rosas in Madrid, push start. No wind. Start sensor on cone 1 and end sensor on cone 50. All riders had up to 4 tries. Just 3 riders did clean runs (their times above). We used trackmate & excelmate for timing. You can see the course in the video above. I also broke the Jr record, but I'm 47 :-(

Dany Navarro broke today the jr world record @ 50 cones...again

Today as part of Outlawslalom #3 organized by Madrid Old Skool Skaters Association (MOSS) (basic status http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/phpBB ... &highlight) Daniel Navarro -16- smashed AGAIN AND FOR THE THIRD TIME the Jr World Record of 50 cones, making 11,242 clean.

Course was 50 cones @ 1.60m, flat; push start; not significant wind. Spot was a parking lot provided by Inmofiban, one of the leading real state companies in Spain http://www.inmofibanservicios.com. Timing by trackmate + excelmate.

Here is the happy crew of 17 riders that participated in the event, congratulating Dany:

Today as part of Outlawslalom #3 -WR weekend in Madrid, Daniel Navarro broke the Jr WR of 100 cones "clean" with 27,756 and the Jr WR of 100 cones w/ cone penalty with 24,612 (23,612 + 10 cones). At 16, this is a rider to watch.

Place: Parque del Oeste, Madrid. Tarmac, +/- 3% pitch.
100 cones, first 70 @1.80m and last 30 @ 1.90. Push start. No wind.
ISSA WR rules. Trakmate + excelmate timing.
23 riders attending.
Beautiful weather and finished with a picnic (spanish ham, good rioja wine, the whole lot)

Great fun and great records.

Video & pictures coming soon.

Ps: even with Dany breaking the Jr WR I (47 years old) won the event with 24,439 (23,539 + 9 cones), new Spanish record of 100 cones w/ cone penalty.

New World Records in Grenoble 2010

Here are the official time during the world record atemps on sathursday evening in Grenoble.

Congrats to Ramon and Janis who put the show till the end.

Ramon beat first the record with 9"799, 5 minutes later Janis answer with 9"780.
After that Ramon do with an incredible precision 9"790 two times! but let the record to Janis.

In the junior category: Christopher Dupont need 3 attempts (hitting cones each time before) to beat the record of the Spanish boy Daniel Navarro. Then he puts a perfect 10"421 better than his father so he takes the French record by the way.

At least 11 years old girl Irene Di Giorgio finish her run in 15"562. As far I know there was no official time for junior girl (or kid girl) before this so we can consider it a new record too.

To finish: Zaccario Di Giorgio 13 years old do it in less than 14" (I haven't the exact time but Jean Sebastien have all the results in his computer anyway... It can be consider as the new record for kids.

To finish: Lienite Skaraine was not so far from Lynn Kramer's record (0"40) It's a pity Sandrine was not here I'm sure she could do it too.

Thank you for the info. Sounds like it was a fast track due to all the records broken. Did you use startramp or push in? I assume there must be video from the race, it would be fun to see.

Sounds impossible that you were able to do three consecutive clean runs on the same hundred Raymundo. Impressive in its own way! With Janis and Ramon being so close in time, and also doing close consecutive times I guess the (male senior) record must be at a pretty good level by now.

Congratulations to Janis, Christopher, Irene and Zac for setting new records!

I will update the documents and send you world record diplomas as soon as possible (with my slow pace and tight schedule you can expect them by christmas ;-)
