First info...

Post by Petr Janousek » Wed Mar 10, 2010 7:21 pm

It may surprise you! But believe it! The World Championships 2010 will be held this year in Hradec Kralove in Czech Republic and it will be a big event! We are working on different things that follow such an events now – we are dealing with sponsors, local councils and we are preparing completely new web pages. You can visit these pages at the end of March.

Prize money will be at least 3 000 EUR for the first 10 in total. According the number of racers up to 6 000 EUR.

Entrance fee max 100 EUR - as well as in Sweden 2 years ago
Juniors and Women 50 EUR
Including a T-shirt, 3 day refreshments, entrance to the party

Accommodation about 11 - 17 EUR / night,
dinner - 5 EUR, Pilsner Urquell (super Czech beer)– 1,1 EUR!!!

We would like to discuss with you potential racers because the race should represent a big event especially for you. We would like to ask you to send us your suggestions or remarks/reverse to this race. Is it clear that we are not able to meet all of your needs but we try to do the best.

There are two possible variants for dual line slaloms (Tight Slalom and Hybrid Slalom). You may decide which is better now:

For both varians: All racers have two qualifying runs.

First Variant: The fastest 16 racers in qualification are seeded in the head to head bracket in positions 1-16 ( we can call them Elite). Racers who qualified 17-32 will take two more runs (again), and the best runs will be used to seed these racers in the 17-32 spots. The others will be lined up at 33rd -.......xxth position according to times in the qualification.

Second Variant: The fastest 24 racers in qualification are seeded in the head to head bracket in positions 1-24 (we can call them Elite). Racers who qualified 25-40 will take two more runs (again), and the best runs will be used to seed these racers in the 25-40 spots. The others will be lined up at 41st -.......xxth position according to times in the qualification.

We have a third Variant: Racers who qualified 17-last spot (25-last spot for second variant) will take two more runs (again), and the best runs will be used to seed these racers in the 17-last spots (25-last spot for second variant).
Advantage: All the others will have a chance to go 4 laps instead of usual 2

Is the special offer for early sign up just for the Men category or for the Wom and the Junior too?

Hi Sandrine. Sorry for the late reply. Women and juniors have a permanent discount than men. Your entry fee is only 52 eur. Remember, women will have price money too.

Claude, thanks for the compliment. It is Choze´s idea (Josef Stefka). Thanks to him. We would add to other data from previous world championships (the right side (web side) is devoted to the history). We hope that the organizers of other world championships will continue our work. Claude, will you arrive in world championships?

Emrik, I look forward to duel with you. I've seen some videos with your slalom practice. But I also try to prepare as best :-D. Tequila have cooled. :-D
I also look forward to the party. We want to see everyone having fun. We are glad when you could sing to the party. I wish you to put your new CD and have managed to succeed. I send thanks to the Swedes, who are already registered (sign up) in large numbers. You are always welcome here.

Good Luck on the event. It will be the 1st worlds I miss in a while.

Petr, I really wish I could. I just had major heart surgery again and will not be recovered for a while. At this point I am not sure if I will be able to return to racing.

We will see what the doctor recommends for now.

I am looking forward to going back to Czech Republic. I know that this is going to be a good contest. There are lots of good and fast riders entered into the competitions in all categories. I am disappointed that more guys from USA and Canada cant go. If you swing it you can go to Prague also.
I'd like to see some Team Managers in attendance at this Worlds 2010.
Im going to be late for the GS. Everything is all set. See you next month.

Hi, Is anybody driving from Hradec Kralove to Prague (close to airport) on Monday Morning August 2? We need to be at the airport at 10am. It's just me and my husband, Erik.
We can take the bus to the bus to the train to the bus, but I'll be totally stressed out doing that before 10am, and getting a ride would be easier.
If you are and have room, We'd really appreciate it and can pay for gasoline.

It looks like one of the biggest race ever, with real WOM, JUN and KIDS categories.
Open race will also be SO competitive and it will be hard to enter the 24 cut !

Food for the racers.
Every participant will get 3 catering counters at the registration on Friday before the Giant slalom starts. The racers will get a light meal, fruit and a bottle of water at the mobile stall at the racecourse on every racing day.

Moreover, every participant will get one portion of grilled meat as dinner from the owner of the restaurant Mana Mana, where the Friday Welcome party will take place from 8 pm.
And a portion of the speciality in the restaurant U Lva – grilled ribs, as dinner at the Victory Ceremony and the Live party on Saturday from 8 pm.
Every racer will get 5 meals for free all together.
