Visiting Camino de Santiago

Post by Joe Iacovelli » Mon Mar 12, 2012 11:51 pm

Hola!

My son and I are very interested in hiking the Camino de Santiago. I was wondering if anyone on the ISSA has done it. I'm particularly interested in if it would be possible to skate any of the sections. I know you can bicycle it, but don't know if wheels come big enough or soft enough to do the Camino.

My thanks in advance. Buen camino

Joe

Hi Joe, good trip!!!

Beatiful, hard and emotional!!!

The Camino de Santiago is it a very uneven piece of land mainly in the end of the Camino (Galicia).

It all depends of the way or area that you choose. For example if you choose the North of Spain (North Coast) you will have dowhill everyday but uphill too!! And very important, you will need light!!!!This choice (skating) is better from May, with long lighting days!

An other recommendation, short skate better!!! The Camino is Hard (it depends your planning for sure) and the weight is important when you´ve been walking 4 hours!!

Keep in touch if you need more info and good trip Joe, UNFORGETTABLE!!!

By the way, if you will be in Spain in July or September, slalom races in the North of Spain WILL WAITING YOU!!!
Life is good ¡¡¡¡
