TRAINS
The trains stop going to gothenburg pretty early. from what i could see, the last train leaving from stockholm on wednesday is 2230. (1030 PM) arrival time 2 AM or something.
a longer, but cheaper way of travelling is by bus/coach that leaves from the sthlm central station as well, for example swebus express, but takes approx. 6 hours to gothenburg, compared to 3 to 4 hours by train. yet another alternative is domestic flights. If you find discount tickets that's a fast and cheap alternative. but you have to check at arlanda i suppose. most of the cheap flights leave from another airport in sthlm called Bromma.
Well some info for you..

Toby -- Thank you for posting this link. I have tried to use the site but after the initial page in english -- I am getting lost. If you or anyone else can help I would really appreciate it.Toby Warg wrote:SJ sells tickets for the train.

Seems like a ticket is about €75-85 with X2000, which is the faster alternative.
Richy and I are coming into the Stockholm Arlanda airport Terminal 2 scheduled to arrive at 17:20. We want to take the train directly from the airport to the main train station in Gothenburg as soon as possible after arrival but with enough allowed time to clear customs, etc. Not sure if it is a direct train or if there are changes, etc.
Do you think I need to book this in advance or is it o.k. to just show up at the airport and then find the next train? Any help, tips or insight would be greatly appreciated!
We're leaving a.m. Tuesday (tomorrow) from the states so am hoping to figure out before the dawn hits!
Sorry for last minute SOS but some of these details got left too long!
e-mail direct to: sk8kings@aol.com if you prefer.
Thank so much guys (and girls)!

60% chance of rain. I hate to put a "damper" on things, but crap..... I hope that weather report changes.
How accurate are those reports anyway?????
They are not always correct, especially this summer.

Info letter to all riders of the Wc 1-3 aug. gothenburg
Hi! We’re getting closer…
Important message for all contestants!
Please try to register on Thursday the 31st of july. Between 4 PM and 8 pm at the race track.
You will then receive your personal t-shirt, tickets, schedule, badges, etc etc..
Entrance fee is:
100 euros (1000 swedish crowns) for Pro
80 euros (800 swedish crowns) for amateurs, juniors and ladies
There will be officials working at the registration and information office all weekend long, but, because of the amount of riders and tight schedule, it would be perfect to solve all registrations on Thursday.
As you have seen we start very early in the morning and it is crucial that all riders show up in time, for the competition to run as smoothly as possible. 7 AM, is 7 Am, and not 8 30!
We apply all ISSA rules concerning DQ etc..
Training runs are limited to 2 each in every course, if you don’t obey to the rules you will, no doubt, get a DQ. There will be riders-meetings before all races start.
The area is going to be a fantastic sight with livebands playing all weekend long.
A tent with skateshops and a café.
A graffiti wall, tattoo-shop ( for your personal Gothenburg –tattoo!), pin-workshop, a restaurant supplying all riders and officials with food and cheap drinks.
A mini-ramp with demos and also street ramps etc..
We hope for all riders to hang out at the race-track and main area as much as possible, but we do have a night-club Trädgårn (www.tradgarn.se ) , were you can go, show your pass/badge and get in for free.
On Sunday there will be a huge after-skate party at Trädgårn with well known Swedish artists and deejays Papa Dee and Governor Andy, playing their favorite reggae-ragga-punk music, and toast on the mic. There will also be a special punk-performance by Emrik and his former colleagues from The Stonefunkers. 20 minutes of mayhem!
The Race-site and skate area is, as you know, in a park called Slottsskogen. Gothenburg is a fairly small city and you can easily walk, skate, take the tram or taxi in no time to get to Slottsskogen. All Swedes in Gothenburg are familiar with the park, so just ask and you will get directions.
If you catch a taxi, say that you’re going to Slottsskogen and want to be dropped off at Linnéplatsen. Linnéplatsen is also the best place to get off if you’re going by bus or tram.
Check this link to get all the right trams or buses to Linnéplatsen: http://www.vasttrafik.se/en/
If you come by flight to Landvetter airport, or the smaller Göteborg airport, the cheapest way is to take the airport bus to the central area of Gothenburg. Cost back and forth, around 15 euro. You can also catch a cab at the airport, cost about 30-35 euros. Be sure to ask for “fixed” price, as some taxi-drivers just let the meter running…
The courses are being set, the weather forecast Is looking great for next weekend…
See you soon,

Seems like a ticket is about €75-85 with X2000, which is the faster alternative.

Course Setting!
Hey guys, Thanks for the vid.
I have a question regarding the Tight. How Tight O/C Cone spacing & Speed at finnish!
Just trying to figure out what the minimum gear I can take on the trip.
I guess surface ratings for the roads and course would be great as well.
Looking forward to seeing you all again!

They certainly look fast. If they post fast enough times in the amateur division and race in the men's division they would certainly rattle their opponents.Jadranko Radovanovic wrote:Rumors say that the Cone Judge election was done.
Here are the winners for this year's competition.
With their experience Swedish women might pull out of the starting gates so hard that we would need to pay people big money to help stabilize the ramps on the ground from behind.
I would suggest dismissing any need for paying entry fees for the friendly Swedish female skaters -- those two finger Peace trophies are great. Perfect for the uh.... Gothenburg-Spot.....where they will hold the race.

Smorgasbord...
You may well have had even more sign-ups if you had posted that before the cut-off date!
Just working out finances....What is the Pro entrance fee?
Thanks,
Martin.

a,b,c,d,dd,
well Blonde and 32C- 36C would be the average I would think ...they would have to be under 5 feet tall for 25C to 30C to look good... but I guess 5 footers with 30C would look almost like a 5'8" with 36D. Just like on Long Island..only it's real.justin collins wrote:expect 25C to 30C and blondes
i know what blondes are... but what's 25C to 30C?? Farenheit?
hope to see you all there,
Justin
Five footers or smaller sounds tight even for Europe. In Sweden I you could even expect 6 footers.

I think it was a very good thing done in Paris where Am,Women and juniors all qualified at the same race/course/time. Then there where finals top x AM and top x Women. If any women placed inside top n then they would be in both AM finals and Women finals.
Furthermore, this is in the spirit of how the world ranking works as well. Even if it is only an Open race there will be (where possible) a result for PRO, AM, Women, Masters and juniors. If a Women Class results will also be calculated for Women Masters and juniors a.s.o.

G'burg Baby!!!
I can't afford it, I shouldn't be going AND I'll get my old ass whipped....But, a friend advanced me the airfare...I'M COMING!!!!
By my count there are 95 skaters signed up - Incredible, guess everyone has heard that the Swedes know how to run a race!
There are too many people registered who I either haven't seen for a long time or only know on the internet, plus once I move to Utah, God knows when I'll be back in Europe...so, I had to do it!
Be there or be square!
