(also wrong shoes and no helmet )

Better stay with SLALOM :-)

Hey my fall was looking same as your pics definitively It 's better to ride fast Slalom or Dh as riding slow in the city
thanks for your proposal I already found someone to host me for the first days
but if your avaible to show me around it could be nice and yes I could help you for the events
but I would like to have enought time to do some photography during the race, as I don't bring my skateboard
I' ll have more place for the photography stuff

cheers

Flavio, thank you for optimistic point of view. Nobody in this world can gurantee what happens with the weather in next hour, two or seven days.
It is only good business for those which try make the forecast without any responsibility for the results :-)
Whole July was like "April" with quick changes and no more than two days "dry" .
From next week should start the "Summer".We hope the best. To be sure, on monday I have an meeting to check one parking house.

Robert - thanks for all the work you have done - we are looking forward to a smashing race weekend.
One request - can we get a racers pack in advance - something that has all the locations, times, maps, etc, info on airport, race timetable and anything else that maybe useful to know.
Then we can download it.
I have never been to Stuttgart before - usually I try and make my own information pack to print and take with me for bits of info gleaned from the net. I am sure it would be appreciated by all the skaters!
Thanks again, Paul

For public transport infos look please on page 2 of this forum (posted on 07.July) maps are on http://www.sk8slalomworlds.com under "race venues" in same place is also public transport map to download. The race Timetable is difficult to manage because we never had such race before (124 participants).Schedule you can see at http://www.sk8slalomworlds.com. The only one change is, that the Registration will be on Thursday evening in Interhostel between 18:00-22:00. (you can read it in this forum posted on 18.June)

Course setting for the worlds.

I just read the rules and the application from Robert. I suggest 3 racers from different countrys, at least one from the americas.

I would like to see
Richy Carrasco
Poul Price
Dominik Kowalski

Great experience and overall good guys:-)

What do the world think? respond.

Yours Fastest

Robert,

I tend to write race reports for the UKSSA website on my return from races. I may be able to assist with a few lines for daily Worlds updates for the front page? We can maybe discuss this tomorrow. My fight leaves Heathrow at 08.10am so I will arrive in Stuttgart mid-morning.

Hello Robert,

Thanks for all the work you are doing to make the worlds happen this year.
Two questions before we hit the road tomorrow :
- we are not staying in stuttgart but in Ruit, maybe arriving quite late, will it be possible to register early friday morning or late thursday on the spot ?
- is there any meals and water we can buy near the competition on friday and saturday?

See you,
Michel and Christopher

Ruit is closed to Scharnhauser Park. In Ruit or in Scharnhauser Park are enough possibilities to buy some water or food.
We also organized some water .

For all which arrive late evening on Thursday - don´t worry you can get your "race bag" on Friday morning.
Important ist to sign the "waiver" so nobody can take your bag for you !!
The starting Numbers are very important , we mark on it your practice runs (everbody has two).

We expect 2-3 TV teams and some newspapers

We have an unique chance to show our sport !

So please don´t think to much about your "Worldranking Points" :-)

Olympic games start in London but the Olympic Idea is also with us in Stuttgart !!

Mens Open class racing was really hot today in the hot weather! It was a real battle for the top 16 slots and therefor some of the guys we often see in the finals didnt make that far. Richy and Paul Price for example had to settle for places just outside of the top 16 along with comeback kids Heiko Schöller and Marius Strobel. After the first run Mika Hadestrand was in 27:th place, but he improved enormously in the second run into 2nd place. Joe McLaren was leading up until Vikings second run when he pushed down Joe into second place. From my place at the timer table is was really enjoying the battle among the final top 8 when the rain started really sudden. I really hope for some good weather tomorrow because I really want to see more of this!

Tonight theres a party at the Stuttgart Skateboard Museum.

Huge THANK YOU to Robert Thiele, his family, everyone else who made this race possible (of course especially to Policka crew ;) ) - if few months ago it looked like we won't have a World championship this year, then now I can say that I took part in the biggest slalom event ever - so many racers - kids, juniors, ladies, legends and upcoming stars and super tight racing!

Pitty that the rain didn't allowed to do all the runs, but still the best guys won - congrats!!!

Overall results are wrong!

Donald Campbell did not compete in the GS and got 77 points for it! Not competing counts 77 points!?
The same goes to Martin Hoppe. Actually Martin and Donald did not compete in GS and got more points then I did!

Actually everybody that did not compete in GS got 77 points! without RACING! Please fix it, thank you!

Calm down Flavio.

As you know all that signed up where part of the spreadsheet, then once the race is over you need to clear out all the DNR-DNR, but still leave in the DQ - DQ (in a shared last place). Participation is rewarded even if you didn't get a valid time in the end. DNR (Did Not Race) doesn't give you any points at all, so there should be some 0 points in there.

Corrections are supposedly under way.

Jani, I was/am calm, I was just making my point. I must admit that I will feel a lot better once I see the *****proper****** results though. ;)

Donald, please don't feel forced to race GS if you don't want to, this is certainly not the goal of my post, my post was regarding correcting the results. Now if you feel like racing the GS because you ENJOY doing it, I will be glad to race you. After all I am really enjoying the "competition" we older guys are having together. So I guess I will be seeing you on the long steep Mallorca hills. The race is on Uncle!

I also want to thank Thiele and the crew.
No racing for me this time, but jus t like Pierre I was enjoying the races anyway.
What I enjoy the most was to see all the young racers really rippin' it.
Man.....it has been some training going on out there in the world.
I hope to see you all soon.....on the ramp this time.
