Jani how are you. As you know I have been involved in DH Slaloms Resurection since 2002. I have seen the World Championships held on the West Coast and the East Coast. Both performed Awesome jobs. In 2003 Marcos Soulsby Monroy and I formed the Texas Outlaws. And Both of Us joined forces to Host The Texas Cold Fusion Sizzler DH Slalom Contest. There is only a handful of skaters left from back th...en. We have continued and become a power house in DH Slalom in the USA. With that comes our detractors who criticize our every effort and state they can run a DH Slalom Contest so much better. We grow stronger as the years pass. Where other groups have dissapeared. We continue to promote DH Slalom in Texas bringing in younger Texas Outlaws into our family and teaching them the O G ways that we were brought up with. And that is Respect each other and every one else, and ride it all. My question to you is this. Who will be deciding who gets the 2013 Worlds. We attract more World Champions Present and Past to our Race. More than any other race in the United States. Texas has an awesome Derby Hill
1. Pristine formula one Asphalt. Now cars have traveled on that hill.
2. On site rest room facilities.
3. On site bleechers for spectators.
4. On site Night Lights for Night Racing. This year we will have lights on the other side of the Derby hill as well.
5. On site Food Concession Stand. All riders eat and drink for free.
6. 2 Interntional Airports. No need to drive an Hour or two after you land in the State Hosting the Race.
7. Hotels near the Derby Site.
8. Restaurants of all types to eat at and nite life as well. My contest is not based on promoting Tourism. It is 100% Dedicated to DH Slalom.
9. I am an actual skateboarder. I may be 52 years old, but I can still shred. I live, eat, sleep and dream of skateboarding. It is all I know.
Who will be replacing Steve Pederson on the ISSA Marshalls Board ? Thanks for listening and please reply regarding who will be voting on who receives the 2013 World Championships. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

This is a copy of the letter I sent to Jani Soderhall.

I will be attending the Worlds this year, travelling with Corky to Hockley, and then following up with a business trip in Austin, Kansas City, Atlanta and finally Orlando. 3 weeks of travelling. Looking forward to see you all!

I planned to race Master like I did at the Euros. Do you guys have a complete list of people who have signed up yet, and how accurate is the list on SlalomRanking.com? Could you ask those that are confirmed, but not yet on SlalomRanking to sign up there (too) for an easy overview? Or you just re-post a list with the right classes for those like me who prefer to sandbag?

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

To make sure the event runs smoothly, only the top 16 in each class will go on to head-to-head racing, regardless of how far away they come from and what class they sign up for. If you do not make that top 16, you won’t skate past qualifying, and you can’t change from one class to another depending on the event. Once you declare your class, that is your class for all events. However, everyone who participates in the race weekend will get ISSA points and placing in the event.

We will be setting one course only for each discipline: one Tight, Hybrid and Giant for ALL racers. All courses will be set with all racers in mind, keeping with the idea that speed through the course is more important than being able to make the course.

Both qualifying and head-to-head racing will use random-beep starts. This is to ensure that racers cannot gain an advantage by either (1) starting early to skate a “clean” course, or (2) waiting for their opponent to start so they can “chase down” the opponent.

Also, a false start will be a DQ (disqualification) for that run. A careful examination of the rules has shown that the current “2x” false-start penalty sometimes still allows a racer to gain an unfair advantage. So again, in the interest of fairness, all false starts will result in a DQ for that run. This rule change has been approved by the ISSA. If you have any questions about this rule, please speak to any of the following ISSA representatives: Jani Söderhäll; Jonathan Harms; Hans “Corky” Koraeus; or Ron “Fatboy” Barbagallo.

The after-party and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday after the last race at the bottom of the hill at the community center. Please keep in mind that Hockley is a DRY hill, which means no alcoholic beverages on the hill. This is the park’s policy, and we must abide by it. It will be strictly enforced. Please save the beer until the end of the day in the community center.

One last thing: If nature does not cooperate (the dreaded “R” word), be prepared to race more than one event on the day that is not affected. Hockley has a lot of lights so we can easily run well into the evening if we have to.

If you need to reach any of the Texas Outlaws when you get into town, call any of the following:

Marcos Soulsby-Monroy: 832-385-7985
Eddy Martinez: 956-792-4304
Zack Levitt: 713-818-9815
Humberto Salcedo: 713-289-0883
Stephen Blane: 832-385-0781

See you at the race!

Sincerely,
The Texas Outlaws
