Come and join the Texas Outlaws for the World Championships of Slalom in Houston (Hockley) Texas on October 11th 12th and 13th 2013. We will be running Giant, Hybrid and Tight slalom on the Hockley soapbox derby track.
For those of you who have not been to the soapbox derby track this is a spot as close to perfect of any venue that I have been to. The Asphalt on a scale of 1-10 is a 9, (9 due to some wear this past three years) the hill is a quarter mile long and drops at 1st a 6% then a 4% grade speeds can reach 30-35 MPH due to an almost constant tail wind.
On Friday we will run Giant Slalom. Giant Slalom will be run single lane jam style, cone penalty of .2 per cone and 15% dq limit. You will be able to pick your start, we will have the BAR (Big Ass Ramp, 9 feet tall.)
or The Ricky Byrd style ramp.
We will run one class and then another and so on till all racers have had at least three runs, we will take the fastest two runs and combine them for the racers best time. All racers are welcome to run this event but only the top 16 in each class will be recorded. Practice starts at 2:pm racing at 4:pm
On Saturday we will run Hybrid Slalom. Hybrid slalom will be done 1st with qualifying and then head to head racing. Cone penalty is .10 and 15% DQ Limit. We will be using a Trakmate timer with false start detection and Ricky Byrd Style start Ramps. Please be aware that all racers who want to try and qualify are welcome to come but we will only take the top 16 into head to head racing in each class. Practice starts at 9:am racing at 10:30am.

2nd 400$

We will be awarding the same prize money to men pros as well as woman pros, this will be for all round placing, using the ISSA points system; this is assuming that we will have enough racers to cover expenses, but we feel that this should be pretty easy to get too.
