Would there be any benefit in moving the State Games to a different date (away from Dovercourt date)? As it stands, it is 1 week apart. We have some flexibility. We could (for example) move to early August ...???

PC: You may be ok with the Oregon State Games where they are. It's sort of a different audience, different coasts, different countries, Prime vs. Main. If anything, maybe put it a week earlier. I think August might bring bigger races.

A Main and a Prime only one week apart - in the same country. Maybe that's expecting too much. You should probably help visitors choose between the two events. It'll be difficult to make both, or exceptionally, if we don't have than many other races in the year maybe it's a good thing! Sometimes we get requests for back-to-back Main events. It's good for long distance travellers, but not so easy for medium distance travallers.

Hi Sam.
I asked the organizers for same one. They told me that they don´t have money for organizing the World Championship for level which is common in the Czech Republic. In case when other countries won´t be interest to host the Euros the Czech´s organizers are able to organize the Euros.

The Euros have often been run on a shoestring, think Switzerland and Amsterdam for example. From a UK perspective, we have found the Czech races to be some of the more consistently organised and enthusiastically run. One of the key factors to a successful event is not so much the ephemera around the race, but the organising of the race itself. In other words, good timing systems, course layout and efficient spreadsheet operators and marshalling. Provided there is a good organising committee that can oversee the racing itself, then the rest usually falls into place. If the Liberec team feels that they are up for this (the Main category suggests as such) then why not make a bid for the Euro champs?

This will be a mellow event. There will be a lot of first-time slalom folks at the event, so we'll set a pretty easy hybrid course and have a jam session with timing. At the end we'll calculate the results, which will actually be used for qualifying for the DH portion of the event. Not required to ride both slalom and DH, unless one wants a crack at the "overall" title. $10 entry fee, cash and swag prizes.

Where will the August 25, 26 Virginia prime be held and who is the organizer I can contact for details? We're making our family summer travel plans and a trip to Virgina would be very educational for the kids :)

It s in a good way... city council seems to finally agreed on our event... more news really soon !

But once again, we only apply for a prime and we do not want to set a high level race this year... everyone of you will be more than welcome, but we do not want you too be disappointed about the organization level.

The Italian Slalom Race is starting again, this new year there will be two days of racing with a day in our main spot (Montestella Park) on May 5 and in a street in the city very close to the main spot, May 6 (Via Console Marcello http://maps.google.it/maps?q=45.504121, ... 1&t=h&z=16) in an interesting way for a Little Giant with a travel distance of 350 meters in the first 200 meters with a gradient of 6 \ 7% (it is a road on an overpass) on the last stretch of flat road.

'Hog Hill 1' (May 19/20) is now titled 'Hog Hill Open Season 2012' and has a Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/126367277494166/

'Hog Hill 2' (June 30/ July 1) is now titled '2012 Razorback Games' and will be a slalom version of the Olympics. Can we therefore be considered for Prime Status for this event? If not, then we will be very happy with 'Olympic' status.

for Europe we have now 4 Prime slots free and actually 6 candidates (3xESP, CZE, FIN, ITA) I am responsible as status Marschall for GER, CH, RUS and NL
so, maybe you can talk with

R. Damborenea for Spain, France, Italy
to make some agreement/compromise
