Breck
Chris makes a fine point.
The question is does Breck want a Major? We need to ask whomever puts that one together. Is it Fluitt?

Cool
Rob,
I am letting sleeping dogs lie on the debate over this years status. It was basic in name only. Let's focus our energy to next year and make it the second world Major.
One in Europe and one in the US.
Any further support or dissention?

100% Support
Marty:
100% behind you - every point you made is valid
I would also like to add that the quality of race courses and sufaces were top notch from the outlaw on Friday night through to the Hobby Hill on Sunday.
The level of competitors that were present respresented the top racers on both the East and West coast, including 6-7 of the best in the world.
If we are going to show respect where respect is deserved, than the Dixie Cup needs it status both next year and retroactively for this year.
Just my 2 cents

First Foray
I'll go first,
I will pony up Marions contest for Major Status. Talk to anyone that was there, this guy has the orginization, city support, location and the right time of year on his side.
How many contests have you guys been to where you get a letter from the Mayor thanking you for coming? Marion's skills as an organizer were evident all weekend. The DHB's commitment to that race being first class was evident from Friday through Sunday.
Location - Statesville is near two international airports. Flights in can be shopped well in advance and deals can be found as Marion already has the dates for next year. The hotel rate was negotiated in advance and at 50 bucks was a pretty sweet deal. Racers from Europe can join the party pretty easily if they wish to.
Time - What better time to hold a Major than at the end of the season? We can have a Slalom Superbowl of sorts.
OK I went first. Supporters, Detractors? Let's hear it.
