<b>The Future Starts Now!</b>
<center><img src="http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/Board ... "></center>
RoeRacing was started a little over two and a half years ago out of the desire to build a high performance slalom board. At the time, the most advanced boards available were literally built back in the 70's and had been sitting in someone's garage collecting dust of well over 20 years. So, with lots of encouragement, excitement and some trepidation, we set out to build a better slalom board. We began prototyping and testing in the spring of 2001 and our first boards were made available to the public later that year.
Two years later, 100's of yards of carbon and fiberglass cloth and countless gallons of resin later - we are still at it. Our passion for building the best slalom boards available anywhere has been fueled by the recent racing events in both Europe and North America and the prospects of what the future holds on a global scale. Today, we continue the innovation by offering the Performance Series, S-Camber's and the Foam Core Series. Never satisified, we continue to explore new board construction techniques and strive to set, then raise the benchmark for slalom skateboard deck performance. Look for a new line of boards to debut in time for the 2004 racing season.
In anticipation of the future, we are embarking on a new exciting journey! The foundation for these plans has been in the works for the last six month and the details are evolving daily. To say we are excited is an understatement!
The future begins today with the formal introduction of <a href="http://www.insectskateboards.com">Insect Skateboards</a>. Insect was founded in 2002 by Steve Hopper. Steve is a longboarder at heart, but wanted a more responsive carving board. After looking at the boards available on the market, he decided to build his own and created the "Dragonfly", a 36", cambered, "flying machine". Early carbon versions of the Dragonfly evolved into the RoeRacing "Performance Series" slalom boards. 2004 will see at least two new models from Insect. The GS model is nearly complete and a 44" cruiser will be available this spring!
In addition, Steve Hopper has formally joined RoeRacing Slalom Skateboards and will continue to oversee production and manufacturing. An integral component of our plan includes having the facilities to build ALL of our boards under one (new) roof! No more outsourcing means complete control over build quality and production schedules. Our new facilities also gives us the ability to continue testing new materials and design ideas - further advancing the construction and design of our boards.
Please direct all sales inquiries and orders of RoeRacing Slalom Skateboards to <a href="mailto:sales@roeslalom.com">sales@roeslalom.com</a> and sales inquiries and orders of Insect Skateboards to <a href="mailto:sales@insectskateboards.com">sales@insectskateboards.com</a>. In the United Kingdom, RoeRacing and Insect products are available from <a href="http://www.octanesport.com">Octane Sport"</a>.
We remain a small manufacturer with an emphasis on custom built, high performance, handcrafted skateboards - Quality, Commitment, Passion, Dedication.
Sincerely-
Steve, Gareth and the rest of the great people behind Insect and RoeRacing.
