Brady,

Thanks for the insight.

It is important that the GRS organization stand independant until they decide otherwise. We were approached by Hugh R and Howard Gordon to take responsibility for the GRS main web site organization. I think slalomskateboarder.com, it's subsequant registered users and database capabilities is a good choice capable of taking care of GRS administrative duties.

Hugh R has made a good choice in us. We will endevour to make a place where a true grass roots movement can grow strong in what ever direction it wants to without a heavy hand on it's direction. I think that is what the founders and Hugh R would want, please correct me if I am wrong.

Sure, both Jani and myself along with others here support a international rule standard for skateboard slalom. (ISSA) What we will do is promote the GRS organization while not forcing GRS to do anything. It will be the choice as always for those GRS race promoters how they want to run their races. The GRS chapters along with their prospective members will have direct access to the ISSA rules through this web site and all the support for organizing races to an international standard here if that is the choice.

Please continue to place your opinions on this transition here.

Sounds good to me.

I think it would be great to post updates to a GRASS forum. I couldn't do that ina timely basis before so without a website it looked stagnant.

I need newer slalomers to come and drag me out to slalom on a regular basis.

What we really need is a place to put directions, contact info and schedules for practice.

Adam,
MS GRS would love a spot on your site to post weekend sessions times and locations, events, results, a list of participants with contact info, session notes, photos and so on.
Right now we use www.skatems.com as our method of communication. I don't know how I would have got it rolling around here without it. For the groups without a local site it is a must.

Thanks from Road Kill Racing & MS GRS

Adam!

I think it would be great. It would also help to identify numbers and the growth.

I know in a couple of weeks we will be hosting what we hope will be the 1rst Annual Canadian Slalom Skateboard Gathering. We hope to make it a yearly event and move it around the country.

There is a lot of info on this site and it is fairly easy to navigate for beginers as well.

I am printint some Slalom Logo's and adding them to my slalom cones like my GRs and other logo's that I've done.

I think this would also help spread the site info for people that may be too shy to ask when some of us are out practicing. My cones are advertising for all to see. Let's display any link we can. The more the merrier.

GRS integrated in ss.com

Adam,
I would like to see a quick link on top that directs to the GRS mainpage. Isn`t promoting slalom the #1 goal of this site

Maybe some helpful info on how to make use of what the GRS has to offer? Stuff like waivers and insurance links.

Maybe this is not the right forum but are there any proposed changes to the ISSA that will make it more combatible to GRS and the USA as a whole? That is assuming this site is ISSA driven.

I don`t see any constructive plans on how to take the GRS movement and push it, or direct it to some governing body (ISSA?) and developing a real organization with merits.

Let`s get this ball rolling...

GRS integration into slalomskateboarder.com

Idea: GRS Usergroup/Forums/Homepage.

Would each GRS area benefit from having it's own usergroup, forum and homepage? We can make this happen relatively easy for each area. We can also make a area where people of a specific geographic can contact each other for organization quite easily.

These are the steps that I propose.

#1. Identify and catalog each GRS area.
#2. Make a usergroup for each area and designate a moderator.
#3. Make a forum for each GRS usergroup.
#4. Make a "home page" for each GRS area.

If you are interested, I will make one usergroup and present it here for your review.

In essence, this will give each GRS area a forum of their own. We can make these forums organized and in relative order for ease of navigation. I think this is an excellent idea but then again, it's just my idea at the moment.

I want to get you guys up and running and give you the organizational tools to be able to contact each other easily and to have a little interactive area of your own for races, communication etc.

I've heard a comment or two why there are so many forums here. I will give you a little insight. When you have one single forum, the guy with the biggest mouth wins and that is just not right. I want everyone to have a choice and specific areas so we can organize thoughts, ideas and information for ease of use and review.

You want choices, you just don't know it.

Please post your comments.

Thank you.
