I'll be doing more local races in Oregon/Washington
I will travel to one race. Last year it was FCR Worlds in Morro Bay. This year it will be US Open in Breckenridge.
Gas price has little to do with it. Vacation time is limited, so if I can get it local, I won't be traveling.
Rising fuel prices impact on slalom racing.

Rising fuel prices impact on slalom racing.
Fuel prices (among other things) have skyrocketed. Last year I was paying a buck forty a gallon for races within driving distance (West Virginia, Mississippi, St. Louis) and around $225 a ticket for plane tickets (Breckenridge, Da'Farm, Gathering) - those same tickets are looking like they'll cost upwards of $400 this year.
Do you think this will kill the grass roots racing circuit that has sought to establish itself over the past few years, or will slalom racing become increasingly focused on local events and local racers (which inevitabley will be good for slalom)?
