here the answer:

1. a lot of practice...

2. doping at the races...

/J-Rad

All things considered...

Well....

Luca beat the USA boys in France riding an old set of ACS trucks I believe. No advanced technology there, just a very talented rider.

I think the fastest component you can add to any slalom board is the racer himself.

1 spoon of talent
2 spoons of practice
Then into the owen for 2-3 years
Before serving, powder it heavily with ability to dial in your equipment

ARE YOU RAD

I thought radikals made you fast

Jeff, you are closing in on another very important factor that I totally forgot. If you believe Radikals will make you go faster then they will. Believing in yourself and your equipment is more important than you might think.

So let see if I have this right.

1. Talent.
2. Practice
3. Good upper body movement.
4. Good equipment.
5. Believing in oneself.
6. Staying in shape and good health.
7. And some coaching from someone who has some knowledge on the subject can not hurt.

I can do that. Oh yea, I can do that. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

I think it's the shoes. Vans, particularly flower-print vans. And blue mascara. They make me fast. And falling. A couple good busts and you shave .03 seconds off, easy.

I agree with Laura on all points but one: sure, mascara is a factor - I prefer WeFunk Black #7 - but more than that I believe eye shadow is a higher contributing factor in both speed and agility. I have had outstanding results with 3DM taupe with the silver glitter option - unparalleled in aerodynamics and durability.

Troy Smart hit the nail on the head a while back. And Laura's right

Looking good makes you fast

It went something like this...

"When i know i look good, i feel confident, when i feel confident i feel like i can do anything better, when i feel like i can do anything better, i usually do, faster in slalom is better.
So when i look good, i'm better"

Troy held his own in both Athens and Paris

yep....cant argue with honest logic

WHAT MAKES ONE FAST ON A SLALOM BOARD?
"ID LIKE TO KNOW"

1. 5 Hot chicks at the finish line in Bikinis with Champagne
2. Big prize money over 10G to the winner
3. Spectators- also hot chicks, also in bikinis, already drunk on champagne
4. Racing against someone you REFUSE to lose to.
5. A big fat steak dinner and lots of sleep before the race.
6. A real fast hill with a real high speed start and a real fast course. (or it's slow and a waste of frequent flyer miles)
7. A coach who knows what he is doing -spotting you (and your competition) thoughout the course.
8. Balls and a slightly suicidal/all or nothing- bend on life.
9. Being dialed on race day.
10. Actually getting out of bed to the race on race day instead of staying in bed with a woman you met on the plane.
11. Fast moving hips - strong pump/torso -never tiring (see #10)

DIAL IT

Helmets can also make one fast. Or slow. Depends on a helmet.

And don't forget the lube. The lube is important.

yes lube is important, sometimes i lube my hardware befofe it goes in the holes

Lubing the balls makes them spin faster.

Goad,

If you need to lube before you put your hardware into the holes than you have not done a proper job in prepping the hole.......

Preparation and repetition always pay off when trying to score (a podium finish.....)

You boys talikin' "metric" or The "real measurements"?? Either way.. twisting the nuts hinders the lube..But the duro has a harder outcome!
