in the planning for next year(2006):
PAVEL presents:brixlegg blitz II-who's the ruler?

this time:
- S U P E R G-and i mean that length between 300meters - 1km
- a REAL GIANT
- special

- DEATH RACE at the park
- money party beer

all courses will have NO warm-up practice. you will have to make it on a set course immediately. thanks to chris and steve for that suggestion.

i'll be in b-legg early august to discuss the event and the tracks which will be used then possible schedule for that event will be july next year.
it will be BIG
this is an early announcement, just to make sure people start to get aware of what's happening.
after my return from b-legg i will post pics of the venues at hand for this race.
so you all will see what it's gonna be like.
stay tuned for the" BRIXLEGG BLITZ II-who's the ruler?"

YOU will be the Ruler, Don,

if You pull this off. This event will kick ass. Slalom- and Vertskateboarders will love it. Brixlegg is the place to go. With easy access, mountains, lakes, campsites, nice hotels, a skatepark etc. it seems to be a nice village to spend a week of holidays with the family. A good objective to work on my vertcarving, too. Where is the next skatepark?

i'm in brixlegg at the moment and have proceeded this far:
2 media partners-one national one international
carhartt and vans on the boat as BIG sponsors, eastpak will follow
i raced some tracks which are all really cool-one is outstanding for the gs,going through a tunnel on good quality asphalt.
the park for the death race is so sick, people who have been here already, know what i'm talking about.
tv-coverage is in the talks at the moment, also local tv stations are interested(local means austria)
there's confirmed talk of a "free food free drinks tent" for the race.

prize money is 10.000.- EUROS at the moment,i DO have the money and it's not flakey by any means.there will also be a BIG POOL OF PRODUCTS FOR THE AMS .so i will continue where stockholm ended.

the website for the race will be up soon with pics and movies of the venue and information of the sideshow-events.we might have some good skating shows also,as there seem to be a few flatlanders who might like to throw in a few 360's.
good pool-skating at night will also be possible, right next to the party-tent,floodlighted skatepark and friendly locals are the key.
hopefully this race/event will set standards for future events.
more to come...

@sven and the rest of interested folks/friends/suppoerters.
dates will be announced late aug/early sep.
i had a go on the gs course today.
IT IS FAST IT IS LONG car speedometer clocked 60+mph at the end when you go just straight down the track.
i took it in curves and some pumps to see how it is and you can trust me-this course is very promising.
i'll update a bit here and there during my stay in brixlegg to feed the interest of the anxious few.

... sounds like i need a much loooooonger wheelbase !!!!!! keep us updated about the website and other news and enjoy the hills and the concrete ....

Ok, we have heard you Donald!
But...60 mph...I guess that it's a typo. We are talking about 60 km/h right?
No problem here my dear friend. Let's buy some bigger wheels and get some longer wheelbases.

Brixlegg with the resurfaced park is surely a blast. Just recently I have seen footage of the Bowlmasters contest they had there..super smooth and fast.

by Donald Campbell
sorry yoyo
it's 60mph max on the course, depending on how it's set.there won't be a problem in making it a bit slower though.the time clocked has been done with a car just rolling down,it will be less speed with smaller(skateboard) wheels i think, but i´t should be cool nonetheless.
the gs course sports a very wide road, perfect for those loooooooooooooong turns.

the park surface is so cool
lots of traction with a superfast glide.
i'm enjoying every day here.

I'm thinking of hosting an uphill race in a parking garage this winter, does that mean I like farting in phoneboxes then?

just some info for the dwellers who don't post here and for the rest of the maybe sceptic people around on this globe.

whatever i post will happen.
some people know me and they know that things happen when i want 'em to happen.

so keep this thing on the radar and wait for the first blips on your screen early sep.

i am working hard to make this thing enjoyable and unforgettable for each participant.

thanks for the interest so far-even though i'm way ahead of anybody else for 2006-but that's part of the plan/organisation involved.

july 2006 will be the month

No, but it could mean that you like farting in garages...

the race has been confirmed by the mayor of brixlegg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the super g course which is a public motorway from brixlegg up to reith will be closed for the full 2 days of the event.this means that if there's bad weather we will have the tunnel, which is also on the track for interim races-if there's bad weather.
as an extra we will have a bus shuttle-courtesy of the city of brixlegg, which will bring the racers back to the top of the track again.the timing will be provided by the local ski-racers.the same timing that is used for world competitions.

the special will run through the heart of brixlegg, the street will be newly paved by then with supersmooth asphalt, this is a winding road with some descent.it is also very long.expect this course to be at least 60 cones.ams will have a 40+ cones course.

just a bit of info for the upcoming event next year which will happen between july 15-30.
expect 10.000 prize money, expect one of a kind trophies for the winners, expect the longest gs track you have ever raced in europe, free food, free drinks, free lifts and and and.
we will also look into the possibility of doing downhill on that track,ramon-no worries.

i'll end this topic now.
please stay tuned for the official announcement of the race on this site soon and for the upcoming homepage with all the necessary info and videos of the venue.

thank you for your interest so far-expect the best.

next year will determine who's the ruler.

Unless it is posted somewhere else, I was wondering if there will be a limit on the number of open/amateur racers for the 2006 worlds in Austria?
Thanks

good question
please check into the forum on the brixlegg page from time to time also to get information on the race.
i will talk with chris about this subject during wintertime to come to a final solution.
as i see it now it really depends on the # of participants who want to enter this certain race.
