I say we have a normal red course, and the white course be a consecutive arrangement of jumps, jumps, and more jumps. Jumps on jumps too. ur13 would not be allowed on the red course. :razz:

Don O'shei (sp) was talking about (seriously) having a couple of small jumps, doable with a slalom board, that would be placed inside a huge offset cone. And he said that a rider would have the option of hittng the huge offset cone, or hitting the jump which would allow for a straighter line. I thought it sounded like fun.
Sky hooks would work like dual purpose, a foot stop and a jump aid!

Jack, it looks interesting, and exciting. How about a jump or two like Don was talking about at Hood River (not real big, but little hoppers)?
Also, you might need some rules, similar to down hill, where one can't touch the other intentionally and all that. I don't know them, I'm just thinking maybe some rules will be needed.
It would be fun to watch too.

I have been not so into these proposed "non traditional slalom" events. My interest is in TS-SGS, duals or single track. Bank slalom, obstacles, park slalom all hold no interest for me.

That being said your proposal here looks great. It is a nice mix of slalom, downhill and GS. Very nice execution! I look forward to skating this if it happens.

Here are some photos of the hill and a test course I set yesterday. Sorry for the poor quality.

The course begins with a stinger for each racer

After the stinger the road turns right and steepens, this is where the two courses become one
and "pass thru gates" are used. Both racers would pass through two cones set 6' to 8' apart.

Next the road turns left and steepens even more...three "pass thru" gates in this section.

The steep section leads into an off-camber right hand turn followed by a slight uphill section.
After clearing the final "pass thru" gate each racer will return to his color coded lane for the remainder of the course.

As you crest the slight uphill section the road turns back to the left, followed by a moderate final pitch.

As you can see there is a great runout, actually room for more cones...I didn't have enough to continue.

The entire course is 3/10 of a mile long. Below is a shot of the Paso Robles Spa and Hot Springs located at the bottom of the course.

What would you think?

Two starting ramps.

Eight to ten cone stinger 6' to 7' spacing, slight incline.

Then as you come out of the stinger the road curves almost 90 degrees right and steepens. The next four to five gates are actually two cones, set horizontally about 6' apart that both racers must pass through.

The road then curves hard to the left and steepens again, maybe just one gate in this section, it's a short drop.

Next you will go through a hard right, off camber turn. You will need to carry some speed through this one to make it through the short uphill section. You can always take a couple of pushes if you need to.

At the top of the uphill section the road falls off to the left at a moderate angle, at the top of this section would be a couple more of the pass through gates. The road is curves slightly to the right here.

After clearing the last two or three pass through gates, each racer will have to make sure he or she is correctly lined up to to take on their respective final stinger (color coded) that will be similar to the stinger at the start of the course. The finish line will be just after the stinger.

The runout is flat then slightly uphill. Total course length is just over 4/10 of a mile long.

This private road leads to a spa and hot springs. There is a lake surrounded by a beautiful lawn at the bottom of the course. Paso Robles , Caklifornia is the location, tentative date is April 12th with the 13th being the rain date.

I have tentative approval and am meeting with the owners again on Thursday, and will be doing some on hill testing as well.
