...but we do work hard to start our slalom season earlier. No pumps, buckets, or towels but plenty of shovels and a snow blower.

Is anybody else this hardcore about their slalom?!? :D

That was thursday evening, april 16th 2008.

No skating outdoors here from late october/early november til mid april/early may. I haven't stepped on my slalom boards since mid-november...

Mig, I'm very impressed by your motivation. It makes me think back to my early days skateboarding. Not that I ever attempted to start working on half a meter of snow, but I worked just as hard cleaning the streets in my neighbourhood. All walkways in Sweden are covered with sand when the snow starts melting and we were always eager to start before the local cleaning crew would take all of that away, so there was only one solution: get your brush out and start working away!

Good job, guys!

Now THAT is a dedicated crew! Inspirational, truly...
I will stop complaining about a little wind and rain.

Watching the weather network today... Looks like Mig and the crew are getting nice mild weather so they must be enjoying the fruits of their efforts at "The Fortress" this weekend! Meanwhile, out west, we are getting this:

Greetings from Alberta!!!

After all that MB and I hope you guys & gals had a couple of good sessions. It took me about 40 minutes or so to clear off a nice hill Bernie found for our 1st sessions of the season.

We have a nice spot for a decent GS really good Hybrid and TS if you and the crew would like treck west for a weekend.

We are thinking about trying to see what it would take to get permission for this spot. We'll let you know. We never have problems when we ride security has been great.

You could all pretty much crash here. :)

Claude - I'd come to Ottawa even if Dovercourt is not happening...to race or just to train and hang out...hoping to visit the fortress this weekend?!?! It's been warm as heck here lately.

Mig - that's funny...at snowboard Nationals last year we were shoveling snow ON TO the course because it was so warm...I guess basically I'm never happy! ;-)

Sounds good to me!

Rick, sounds good to me. I'll talk to MB about it :) Maybe you could even pick up that slow young kid called Schwipert or someone on the way too. :)

We'll talk after these Denver & Paris trips. that's one reason why I won't be with you in Quebec.

Just so you know we are talking about Dovercourt :)
