Slalom skateboarding in Romania

Post by Harris Wallmen » Fri Mar 05, 2010 10:38 pm

Just wanted to say hi from Romania and let you know that I hope to help raising the slalom community in my country very soon. We just launched www.slalom.ro
You can watch a short video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSU_6UePFNQ

Thank you!

Awesome, Harris! Your video was cool. Skating by yourself, it reminds how it felt when I was just a kid and had no one around but there was my skateboard. I'd roll down the street in and out of driveways surf/slalom style. Rad you're getting a slalom scene started where you are. Keep rollin'!

Hi Harris,

Thanks for letting us know that there are slalomers in Romania!
Keep us up-to-date on the development. Events in Czech republic shouldn't too far away from you so maybe you could in the summer and meet slalomers from other countries!

I noticed you're using the narrow cones that were used a lot in Latvia and Russia back in the days. If one day you change to the standard slalom cones used in international races, don't dump these ones. I would actually like to obtain a small batch of these. Is it still possible to get hold of them?

Thank you for the nice words! I would love to travel to Czech Republic to meet other slalomers!
Jani, I will keep those cones for you...actually I am waiting for the Seismic cones to arrive this weeks, so if I will have a oportunity I will bring some to you. We used them also in the 80. They are from a confection fabric :-)

Thanks again for the encouragements!!!

Harris, I'll swap it for some other equipment that I may have and could be of interest for you!

Good luck building a scene in Romania!

Harris cool vid bro. I am lucky when I get to session with all the Texas Outlaws in one spot. But since Texas is so big, it is not that often. So I ride by myself alot too. But I am always STOKED after a session. Good or Bad. I got to ride. Keep that good STOKE going bro. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Jani, it will be my pleasure for you to have them!

Eddy, thank you for the message! I was twice happy, once for the message, and twice because I have a real brother in Hamburg, Germany and his name is also Eddie. You can see him in this vid:

He is also for the most of the time a lonely rider :-)

Best,

Harris

Harris it looks like your bro is having a great time. Here is one back at ya. The bike trail is fast and narrow. I guess that is what makes it fun. If you fall down you really land in cactus. Fun ride though. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Eddy, nice lane! We have so few bycicles lines in Romania. I love more abrupt courses, but we don't have many in my home town. Thanks for sharing, I like your style. I have to lear to use my arms better.

Best,

Harris
Enjoy the ride!
