New Year Address to ISSA Membership
January has been a busy month behind the scenes at ISSA, and I wanted to share a quick update with our global slalom community.

🌍 ISSA World Ranking 2025
We’re on the verge of releasing the preliminary 2025 ISSA World Rankings to the membership! Huge thanks to Scott Kamins, who stepped in late last year and delivered a comprehensive new ranking system, and to our event organizers who worked closely with him to ensure accurate results. This was a true team effort, and the Board is thrilled with the progress. 📊 Stay tuned — rankings drop this week!
🏛️ ISSA Board of Directors – Open Seat
We currently have one open seat on the ISSA Board and are accepting nominations through Thursday, February 5. This volunteer role is hands-on and project-driven, focused on growing and strengthening slalom worldwide.
Ideal candidates:
• Passionate about slalom
• Comfortable with digital systems & media
• Strong team player
• Available for ongoing projects and monthly meetings (weekdays at 19:00 CET)
• ⭐ Bonus: WordPress website skills!
If more than one candidate applies, the final selection will go to a vote by the ISSA membership. If this sounds like you - we’d love to hear from you!
🌐 ISSA Website & Race Event Calendar
Work continues on re-platforming our website and calendar system. If you’re an experienced WordPress designer or developer and want to help, please reach out!
Our target is to have new systems in place by late February.

🤝 ISSA Focus Groups – 2026
We’re forming focused volunteer groups to work directly with the Board on key initiatives, including:
• Youth outreach & development
• Fundraising
• Marketing & promotion
• Technical development
This is a great opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and help grow the sport we all love.
