Wesley still supports the brand through his web signature, but recent additions to the racing scene seem few and far beween.
In 2005 Rick got his California general contractor's license (he does construction and home renovation work full time.) To put it simply this is sort of like getting a license to print money. That license is where the real profit is in the business.
But at the same time when I was there in 2006 I was with Rick when he bought a boat load of material for board making at a discount from a defunct board maker. He got a couple of boxes of foam cores, a whole roll of like 12" or 14" graphite cloth and some various weight fiberglass. So he's got all this stuff but just lost the time to spend all day working and then go out in the garage for five hours every night and lay up boards. I think the last delivery he made was an Evans cutaway to Mikko Biffle sometime in '08.
So, I know he can make boards when he wants to. It's just a case of having the time and energy to want to.
