Timing System for practice

Post by Stefano Bellingeri » Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:08 am

Dear all,
I would like to buy a timing system which can be used even alone during the training session. Could you tell me wich would be the best solution with a reasonable prize and where I can get it?
Thanks.

Dear Joe,
thanks, how does it work?
I saw that is a slotcar system. How can I count the time of s single run (on a single line course) of a trainijng session?
Is there any trasponder to be fixed under the board?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Stefano

It is single lane or dual timer. Works with a spool of wire and either tape strips or infared beams. It can start when you roll over a strip or with a 4 beep system. This is a race system, used at major races all over the world. For practice you might use something cheaper, like the mychron.

You need a sensor and two beacons like this;

Dear friend,
nothing to apologize about! It was really a great pleasure to met you at the contest.
Yes, I would like to take the chance to cut my times of about, let's say, 10 s...
so you have better to train.
;-)
BTW before leaving for US, why you do not come to visit us in Turin? As son as the baby's room will be finish we should have space for our guests. It should be fine before the end of this fall.
Take care and best regards to the whole family,
Stefano

Die Kabelrolle befindet sich auf einer Plattform mit 4 Rädern. Du kannst am Kabel einfach ziehen soviel du benötigst. Zum aufrollen hat es eine Kurbel.

Die Kabelrolle sieht dem hier änlich.

Stefano,

This is the normal Trackmate system that we use on all events. If Joe sells a second hand system, you may get it at a better price, but check what version it is, if you want to be able to update it with new software. Only those around 6.3 could handle that. Systems lower than 6.3 will have the usual 4 beeps starts and no PC connection.

Dear J Rad,
thanks. We have to speak about that. It seems interesting. We have to continue on PM where you can esplain me how it works (in english please) and about the prize. The Grenobles' option could be interesting too.
Just write me a PM.
Thanks,
Stef

Jani is correct, mine is a version 5. I think for personal practice and single lane contest, the equine is the way to go. Better to sell my trakmate to a contest promoter.
