Well, you will like the prizes, but for WE/Adidas shoes, well there was only 2.000 pairs made world wide, only 185 pairs was for the Swedish market, I think they are long gone.
I don´t think you will have time for shoping during the weekend nut if you arrive early.
At night you can get your Cabanoz played.

Peter,
I have a few questions:
1. We will fly into Skavsta
which is the best way to get into Stockholm?
2.Our flight arrives 11.30 h on friday, there was no way to leave on Thursday. Is it possible to start late on Friday? I assume many people have to work or anything. I think I told you before, but I just wanted to mention it here as I think some others will have the same "problem"
3. I read there will be an international and a European counting in the results. How will this be done?

Hello everybody,
Hope you all are in the shape of your life. Only 18 days till SWC2005. This Friday is the last day for registration and payment. On Saturday we will sit down and set the schedule for the weekend, there is way too much happening this weekend to allow late entrees. Those who have not yet registred or paid there fee, and really want to race, I advice you to put your plans into action.
Cheers
Peter

Jack,
I wish I could be there! Morro was great fun, Main street got great surface and the view at the hybrid was excellent, Antibes like...
Plan is that my Josephine and I will become parents at the start of september so European Championships will probably be the last competition for me this season... But next year!
Michael,
The Cyber will not be at the same location as the other slalom events, but close to the riders hotel, the skate pool and other events. Though I'm not 100% sure which one of 2 alternatives it will be at. Reason: one is freshpaved and might be fast, but is still untested, the other has ok asphalt but has been used before. Both are just meters away from the water so don't lose your board...

Marcus,
If things go as I hope they will, there will be no racing at all in Morro Bay this year. We're trying to move all the racing to San Luis Obispo which is 12 miles rom Morro Bay.

Hi Peter & Marcus,
Any idea what the surface will be like for the cyberslalom? Will it be in the same general location as the hill shown?
thanks,
Michael

I'd say it's not really as good as Grüningen, but not as bad as Köln, and Morro wise it's like main street (not the street going towards the ocean where the surface sucks)...
Since the GS is pretty long there are some cracks and places where the asphalt is not excellent, but I normally use 92/88a Grippins at the spot, or if its colder 88/84a. Anyways just like you said 86/82a avalons will work fine!

Nice info, Grüningen is good, Köln is semigood on one side, shit on the other, Morro is ok.....very helpful info. What the hell 82/86 A Avalons work everywhere............Peter Klang wrote:It ok, like Gruningen, Köln or Morro.

Hello crime stoppers,
Wanna see the hill you be riding????
well, now you can.
http://www.ettsexett.com/filmer/GS.mpg
Henry, you are fairly close to evening stuff and the race site. Use the underground.
the stations you need to find is
Medborgarplatsen at night
Odenplan during the day.

Hans,
Thanks for the info. I just found out I'll be staying in Stockholm the weekend of the race with all my design classmates as part of a larger tour of Scandinavia, at the Zinkensdamm Hostel... at Zinkens Väg 20, S 118 25 Stockholm. I don't know if thats close to the race site. It's fair to say I'll have some scheduled activities so racing seems out of the question but I will pop over if I can and support team USA.
Cheers,
Henry

Henry,
Have a look at the event homepage. There you will find everything you need. If you pay and can't come you will of course be refunded. But the fun will be lost forever.

Peter-
I will be in Copenhagen in July and August (for design school) and would like to come up to your event. I may be travelling with my design program during the time of your race but if not I will be able to come to Stockholm. Since I won't know for sure whether I can come, signing up to race doesn't sound like a good idea unless I can get my money back.
Where in Stockholm will the races be and where is a cheap place to stay (for a traveling student?)
Thanks,
Henry Julier

Arlanda -> City Three choices. Bus, train, taxi. The buses leave every 10 minutes or so, just outside the terminal, cost about 15-20€ round trip, gets you to town in 30-35 minutes. Train is a little more than twice as expensive and gets you into town in 20-25 minutes. Taxi is about 50-55 euros one way.
I always go for the bus since it's not a big difference in time from the train, and you get to choose from a variety of stops (one being right at the slalom spot). The train gets you to the city terminal only. Also good to know about the bus is that it's not like in Paris where traffic can make it 2 hours instead of 40 minutes...

Well guy's, it's now only two weeks remaining to sign up and spend your
green. We have a pretty full schedule this weekend so we can not have
registration on site. The good thing is, you can skate insted of waiting
in line to register. You will also know whom you will qualify with before
you even get to Sweden.

I did too!HUYNH BACH SAC Frédéric wrote:I've booked my plane..... YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was in Stockholm this weekend and I checked out the race site (without the skate!). The giant slalom will be awesome in a cool setting. It won't be easy for the audience to watch, and there may not be that many, but it's a really cool place to skate.
Starts with a relatively large (read normal road) that turns slightly right, then narrows, flattens out, turns towards the left, then is flat for a few meters over a bridge (over the train), then a very sharp left turn on a slightly angled street. After this cool curve it's almost straight and not so steep down to the bottom.
Part of the challenge is not seeing the whole course, not even one third from the top and then getting across the bridge and into the left hand turn. Don't go too fast or you'll end up falling over the edge...
See you there, or rather in Riga one week prior!!

Hello all,
Interesting fact, USA will come with the strongest and second biggest team.
Remember, there is a nation comp. The points of the three best placed pros, three best placed amateurs, best placed women.
Teams so far:
Sweden 18 registered
USA 14
Germany 9
Switzerland 8
France 5
UK 3
Latvia 2
Italia 1 But that’s all they need.
Where are Norway, Danemark and Finland our brothers ??? Holland, Belgium ???

Re: Booking
From Airlanda Airport (used by all airlines except Ryan Air) it's 40 min by bus (for approx $10). The train takes 20 minutes, but the price is around $25.Claude Regnier wrote:Is it easy and how much will it cost to get back and forth from the airport to the hotel if there is still space?
The different sites are not really close, but there is no need for a car. That would only be more trouble (finding your way and parking close to the hotel, parking attendants are really working hard in Stockholm). You should be able to get around without a car (using underground and buses). It's even worth taking a taxi!Claude Regnier wrote:Are all the events close enough that you don't need a vehicle?

If things go well. I will know by the middle of next week if I'm going or not. Is it easy and how much will it cost to get back and forth from the airport to the hotel if there is still space?
Also are all the events close enough that you don't need a vehicle?
Thanks

Somebody keep me some floor space, EH!
I'll know by the end of next week if I will be able to get away then I will just have to figure out the finances.

PETER,
I will have Cat get with you on the arrangements. I want the hotel finalized in the next 2 weeks.
Paris taught me to plan early. We can't wait. I'm stoked for your race.
