SOME NEWS ABOUT MEDIA
We have actualy 10 messages by day on "Europe 2" radio which anouce the event.
French TV : FR3 and M6 should be present and "sport +" a cable channel show pictures from last year to annouce it. then make a report after the race.
Nice Matin the big local paper follow us to annouce the race (we had a first page last year!)
Desilusion Mag ( Gliss magazine) put one page for our race before the event and reserve 2 for the report.
So ready to fight on the fastest slalom slope?
Ready to have fun on the nation's slalom?
Ready to be scare on the top of the Garoupe hill looking the sea in front of you?
And for sure ! Ready to swim in the mediterrannée?
So see you soon friends.

I volunteer to help out with counting cones on all AM-races, if you don't find it a big problem that I don't speak french. I guess the symbols of the numbers will be quite similar to ours'.Pierre Samray wrote: Something as 18 cone marshall

So I'll behave as a complete stranger then...Pierre Samray wrote:ENTRY FEE : STRANGERS : 1 day : 20 euros 2 days : 40 euros
French racers with FFRS licence : 25 euros. without FFRS licence : 50 euros. It's a question of insurances.
(the right word is "foreigner" Pierre)
Of course I can help with the organization as well, I just love being a speaker...

No problem I think about the race itself.
Something as 18 cone marshall
5 people on the pc course , 2 speakers and 3 on drink and food.
Problem is now. I have no competence with computer.
I ask several people from my association to send picture or information to Jadranko for the site. to make the sponsor booK, to look after media... And I'm afraid I have to do it myself even if I have absolutly no time to do it (buzy from 7 am to 10 pm!)
Anyway : It will be great, because you , all racers, come and do the show!

I volunteer to help out with the timing! If you need me to help with the organization I'll step aside from racing. Except maybe in the giant where I have a personal goal to beat YOU Pierre. With no practise it'll be hard though, but I'll keep working on it. It it's not this year, it'll be next year!Anders Hellquist wrote:So, let us know if there's anything we could do to keep the Straight, so we'll have as much racing as possible.

I'm really looking forward to Antibes; memories of last year's race kept me through the rainy autumn. One thing came to my mind, while reading you post: Instead of cancelling this year's straight race, why not engage the participants in some way? People from the Pro class could count cones etc. while the Amatures race, and vice versa. The Nation Slalom Race is great, but may exclude countries with few racers, like Italy and Latvia. So, let us know if there's anything we could do to keep the Straight, so we'll have as much racing as possible.

All the best,
Anders

Hello all just some world to say I have some problem with my computer. So don't worry if I don't answer yuo quickly.
We have no more webmaster so I want to thank again Jadranko who put this site for the registration
http://www.antibes.youth-generation.ch/
The race is now in one month.
I just can say. I still have autorisaton with the city. And eveything seems to be ok.
As I say earlier in this topic. This year is a transition ( a lot of people from the organisation, go away or will be not here or are no more interesting to participe) But we have some new cone marshall, and new people. That why this year I only keep special and giant (no more tight) and of course we keep the famous nation's.
Not a lot sponsor, not a lot of media, but always a nice race in a nice place! Maybe as last year : life music, certainly a good non official party on the beach. Everything for you to keep good impression.
see you soon friends

I don't know Jani! It's the same problem for me.
Crazy life!!!
Thanks for the time setter. You're this kind of people who can't only race but always look after something else on the race. Well we try to let you quiet on this event.
ABOUT ACCOMODATION
"RELAI INTERNATIONAL DE LA JEUNESSE CARAVELLE"
300 hundred meters from the race.
Phone : 0033 493 613 440
Fax : 0033 493 617 153
(this year you have to reserve yourself! I'm too buzy!)
It's a wonderful place in front of the sea
room of 8 persons
night is 15 euros with breakfast.
Phone before and reserve by fax. (english spoken)
There are some very nice Hotels very near the race but I'm afraid you have to multiply the price by ten (or more) for one night! well! maybe it's ok for the Americans!
Last solution for the very poor riders.
The beach! Still warm in this season. Confortable sand, 50 meters from the race. view face the sea : Toilet, shower (cold). Some racer had this solution last year and seemed to enjoy it. As says Anders last year in prime they had a light show with the big storm on the sea by night (and a free cold shower a the end!)

Accomodations - Martin
Peter, the organisation is getting in touch with a kind of Youth Hostel just near the race site. It's only rooms for at least 8 or 10 people but there's not many cheap accomodations in this area, except the beach perhaps (that is quite comfortable ask the swiss
)
CREPS, where we were last year won't be available from what I've undestood.
Martin, too bad that you can't come. We'll think to you. I hope that we'll met soon on a race (perhaps soon but I have to find trip partners or hints to organize if I want to go to the Worlds...).

Now we live in the US it is too expensive to come back and I cannot leave the country on my current visa...I would love to race Vinzzz on my favourite hill the Garoupe and see if I might be able to stop him winning everything!
Go Vinzzz!

We have previous 2 people who speaks this years one of whom in english for sure.
One in french make animation, the second one give informations to the racers in english.
But eventualy help is welcome.
Thanks for your proposition.
This year I'm alone to look after everything (well! I usually do, but this year it's even worse!)
Unfortunately this year I haven't got a lot of time.
No webmaster for the site.
But soon you can register on line and have information about the schedule.
Just know that this year. We try to make a simple nice event on a nice place, but no specific animation or price money or dotation. we just want our slalom to be clean, funny and interesting.
Special on satursday, giant on sunday morning and nation slalom on an hybrid in the afternoon.
About accomodation I've no answer for the CREPS but may be I find something near the race.

Don't worry Pierre we won't tighten our wheels.
Would it be possible to have a good layer of concrete spread there to go even faster though???
I remember a slalom contest in Béton Hurlant which was held on a (quite fast) concrete surface, and I've been praising concrete surfaces ever since, for both slalom and freestyle...

Good remark Donald. The ramps on the flat were excellent, those on the hill not so good. But probably OK for the giant though.Donald Campbell wrote:hey pierre

I can't explain this problem we had in 2003 with moist. We never had this problem before when we skated at night at the Garoupe Hill (but we never used start ramp either) I think they had just painted the road with white line 2 or 3 days before the event. (very bad idea!) or may be the metal which finish the start ramp. No problem last year during the nocturn final.
This years: We'll have more time for giant (race and training). About the special: I will let you do it with 2 racers from different country.
2 years ago I wanted to cut the speed and did it, but with a too technical offset slalom. Some like it, some doesn't. (these who made a lot of noise) I was sorry to make a too dificult slalom for the no pro racers but the schedule was very tight (3 slaloms a days..WOW! another mistake!) But at the end the best were still the best and I see no more than 2 or 3 cones flying during the incredible dual Giammarco/Strobel.
