Yes the Antibes results are there but I had forgot to put the shortcut from the news topic. Now it's fixed.

The points for Antibes and Morro are not included into the ranking yet though. This will be done for the September 30 ranking.

Wrong!
World Cup Antibes 2005 (10.Sep.2005) exist and points are always taken in account.

Hehe, before I read your post, this was exactly what I expected of it.

I could work on it but this would take more than just a few days ;-)
We'll see....

Yes, I'm writing a short report about Antibes International Slalom.
I will have done the German version in about half an hour and then put it on the Airflow homepage.
After I will translate/rewrite it in English but that could easily take a few more days...

Here are some snaps from the Antibes weekend to remind you of the Summer we've left behind. These are definitely not art.

Slap the programme into Slideshow, slam the viewing time bar down to 2 seconds and you're off.

I can look after it for concrete wave. I have always contact with Jim Kuiack who will be in ANTIBES at the end of the month.

Jani. I think it's not you, who fall on the poster down the ramp....but may be somebody else from your team last year... héhéhé!

Ian,

I'm sure Naphte would be interested in your pictures too. Contact Alex@Naphte.com. The third issue is in preparation just right now and it's almost certainly too late but maybe we can work something out for the next issue.

But, don't submit the same pictures (or articles) to both ConcreteWave and Naphte for those of use who read both.

Antibes write up for publication

Post by Ian Stone » Thu Sep 15, 2005 5:06 pm

Hi all, Is anyone doing or willing to do a short write up of the race? 300 words or thereabouts. I would like to submit photos to concrete wave or any other interested publications but don't feel qualified to write words to go with them.

To answer Jadranko: There is no segregation with the girl or young with the nations slalom.

The ranking of the nations is the additions of the points of the 3 racers during the 2 slaloms.
first : 25, second 20.... till 16 and more who has 1 point. There is no more class for this points because I take the overall ranking (by exemple Vinzzz first amateur in giant had the 3rd time all catgorie so had 17 pts. Or Noemie (17th in giant : 1 point)

Anyway we have only 8 place in final. It's a spetacular race, enjoyed by the public and the racers. And I think that 2 Swiss teams on the podium show that you were really present here winning practically all the races during this weekend. First in pro, girl (special and giant) Congratulations to the first slalom skate nation of Europe.

Thanks Jadranko, very kind offer. I will do my best to make it.

P.S. I think the English team had a similar problem with the Nations race last year. Does seem like a re-think is in order.

Don't forget the discrimination in the Nation Race !

Noemi, J-Rad, and Manuel Frei had not enough point's to enter the Nation Slalom !

The result's:

Noemi: 1st and 1st
J-Rad: 4th and 10th
Manuel Frei: 8th and 4th

And don't forget: Noemi had the 15th place on Sunday over all !!

Think about the rules of the nation cup !!

Here my propose:

Let the team's have one qualification run for each rider and count the times together. In this way you will have the best 8 team's in the Final !!

It can't be the way to count it with the points of the slalom ranking because
there were 11 Pro's. If you are on the 9th place in the Pro's you have the point's of the 1st place of an Amateur. I don't know why we hadn't enough point's perhaps the women don't get any points ??

STOP DISCRIMINATING THE WOMEN !!

Information during the race should be another criteria for a MAJOR/MAIN/PRIME Status.
It can't be that you have to compare your results with the other's... Use the spreadsheets or have a fast information system.

What is with the Entry fees should they be definate or not ! For me it's shure i will never enter the PRO categorie if i have to pay 100 Euro for 6 qualification run's !

Think about the entry fees !! From my view 50 Euro should be the limit ! Naturaly less for the Juniors and Women. Or give the best three women the chance to win their money back...

more will fallow !!

Peter,

what is with me ?? No gratulations for me ?

I had the fastest qualifing time on the special slalom...

I beat him (unbeatable amateur, Vincent Berruchon) in the qualification at the last big race in Europe ! Now it's time for him to go to the Pro's !!!!

Luca spoke to me about the 80 Cones in Zurich ! I think he will come for a revanche against Ramon. It will be a good race !!

Ramon Königshausen
Luca Giammarco
Chris Hart
Dhyan Fischer
Aki Von Glasow
Chris Eggers
Balthasar Weber
Roman Haltiner
Pascal Weber
Manuel Schaub
and so on...

28 rider's registered...

I'm happy for him, he is a great rider and a very cool guy... It'll be cool to see him again! I just hope I'm not looking at the back of his head during the next week of racing ;)

It's a bad news for us. That's the Morrow bay effect! For the first time we'll have no americans in Antibes! That life. This year we have been very bad with promotion comparing to Paris or Stochkolm. It's a lesson for us.
Next year it will be great in Antibes or it won't be.
The good new is that Luca has registered. And it seems we'll certainly have an Italian team on the nations cup...

Ramon : you can have several teams from the same nation. Maybe in the future we can limit (2 teams by country) but not this year.
Anyway : only 8 team are racing the final.

Rules are the same as last year : except we add the qualifications time of the 3 racers during the 2 races.
then the 3 racers of team A fight against the 3 racers of team B.

Team 1 vs 8
Team 4 vs 5
Team 3 vs 6
Team 2 vs 7

RACER
A1 vs B1
A2 vs B2
A3 vs B3
A1 vs B2
A2 vs B3
A3 vs B1
A1 vs B3
A2 vs B1
A3 vs B2

It's a pity you can't come. I was really looking forward to seeing you guys once again.
The view off the slope would have been soooo beautiful all the way down. Yor're missing something....hm...

So then we'll see you only next year...

The descision was just made that we(Team Radikal) will not make it to Antibes this year. The amount it was going to cost Mark to send all of us to race was to much. We are all very dissappointed that we will not make it, but Mark has paid for two groups to come to Europe this summer already and has put up $7,000 in prize money for the Worlds. I want to apologize to Pierre for backing out at the last minute, but it has to be done. I do want to say I am dissapointed I will not get to see my many friends in France next week, but I will be back to Europe next summer.

Pierre could you please remove Keith Hollien, Bobby Mandarino, Mike Maysey and Jason Mitchell from the sign up sheet. Thank you.

Keith, Teams Radikal & Pocket Pistols & Oust.

SLALOM RULES

SPECIAL : About 40 cones on a fast slope.
Rules are ISSA rules. 2 runs for all the racers. The best time count the 16 best (pro and am) go into the finals and fight in K.O system. 4 youngs and 4 women in finals. One cone is 0.1 penalty. One cone miss, drop foot is DQ. The ramps are fast (as the slope) so we certainly give the possibility to some racers (girl or young) to start at the bottom of the ramp with a manual start.

GIANT : May be we can tell it's a super GS :About 40 cones on a 300 meters fast slope. Space cones : 3 to 9 meters and fast! 2 runs for everybody : the best atempt only count.
One cone is 0.2 seconds penality. One cone miss, drop foot is DQ.
