[2006] Sweden, August 26-27, 2006

Post by Peter Klang » Thu May 04, 2006 4:16 pm

Inbetween the European and the World Championships there will be a race in Stockholm for all of you whom are planing a skateboard vacation in July.

New date!!! August 26-27, 2006 Stockholm

(No longer July 15 and 16)
We will run a GS and a tight at the same spot as last year, when we say tight we mean it.
We will also make some world record attempts at 100 cone, French Cyber and/or Cali Cyber. All good, all fun.

We will try putting as many of you up staying in our homes as possible.

I, Peter Klang will take in five-six riders.

Saturday:
Tight as a mans... in the a.m
Giant as mother in the p.m

Sunday:
Cyber at noon
100 cone straight to hell in the evening

Välkommen till vinnarcirkeln

Hi Peter,

we have at the same date a race of the slalom-series in Wetzikon.
flyer's and Posters are already printed, so we can't move the date. I don't think that swiss slalomers will show up, perhaps those who have girlfriends in Sweden...

If you're doing your race, I ( and Allan? we were talking about a trip from riga to Äre IGSA cup), should be interessed, than going directly to Brixlegg... Should we have more info about it?

You needn't to move. Our race is just a swiss local race. Some racer's from germany and italy show up some time, but the most are swiss. It's more for promotion of the sport and to get new faces in. Of corse to practice for the big events.

I don't know which day, it's only a 2-3 hours car drive. I have to look how much work i will have at this time. Where are you flying to ? Zurich or Munich ? If you are flying to Zurich, we can organize a practice session for tigth an special in Grueningen and than drive to brixlegg. The tracks in Brixlegg for tigth and special look similar to the Grueningen race track.

Peter,

I think we now have a pretty well packed EndOfMay/June/July, so don't be surprised if everyone can't make it to every event.

What is lacking is events in late August and early September. If you could move your event there, I think you'd have better chances of obtaining particpants (except that you loose the advantage of the Riga event).

Duuuuuuude don't do this to us man, Klang! I want to go skate with the swiss guys and hit up Stockholm since we diddn't come last year. Not that you should schedule your race around our schedule or anything but you'll get 2 Americans if it's any other weekend around the worlds. We're not leaving until August 16th. This will be the hardest choice of the summer.

So far no change has been made. However, Europe needs a race before Antibes.

INFORMATION, MUCHO IMPORTANTE

Saturday 26th is race day sunday 27th is a back up day if we have rain on the 26th.

At night we will drink ourselfs blind and if we have no rain and some energy left in our bodys we will break some world records on sunday.

The courses will be tight and a GS/Hybrid at a park (Vasaparken) Downtown stockholm, this place has just been paved with new asphalt. it´s a new place to us all and VERY fast.

eh, when I say tight i mean it, so don´t cry at the race, just bring the right board.

We start sign in at 10.00 pay start fee at race registration.
However it would be wise for all noon swedes to drop us a mail so we know you are coming. We will try to give as many as possible room. I have room for 5-6 ryders.

Everybody will get 6 runs in each, best time counting.

Alles super!

Looks like you could run a hundred cones there, couldn't you?
And yeah, there's that football field right to the race track, we know what that means, eh?!

Many doors have opened up for travelling slalom racers. take your chance to kick my ass before I stop racing and get a free room at the same time. Sweden is OPEN.

Just drop us a line and we pick you up, hook you up and ...

Peter, think about our offices in Stockholm too. Corky is in charge of "bookings". Adel is staying there, but there is room for more people. Nobody will have to spend a penny on hotel rooms I hope.

Unfortunately I can't come as I have to be here on Friday. Instead I'll try to go to the French event Cowboys Road at the Atlantic coast, which still lets me get there even if I start driving in the morning.

I'll be back next year again!

That coming weekend I'm rejecting the Swedish Championship titles, a 40:th birthday party in the archepelago of Stockholm and a cocktail party invitation given by the Australian Embassy in Stockholm following my trip last year to Australia with all the Swedish industrial hot shots. It's amazing what family responsibility does to you.

Have fun!

At least some good news!

I just tried the hill and its really fast. Though the close soccer field and all the pedestrians make it pretty sketchy and a lot of waiting for people to pass. (mostly moms with one hand on the mobilephone and the other on the babystroller. Rumors have it vasastan have the biggest babyboom in sweden. Not very slalomrelated maybe)

Thanks Mattias for the help.

I am sorry I did not post more info rigt after the race, but I was in pain inside and out. I was suprised of all the juniors (10) who showed up, it looks like Sweden will have a strong follow up generation comming after all the Swdes who are riding today on the tour. Fabian Björnstjärna who was the Swedish Champion back in the days have started again and I predict one more strong Swede in the Pro division next year. Hans Göthberg and Mikael Hadestrand skated like hell and I think they're done in Am, they're PRO riders kicking ass.

Well for now I'm out of order, but I'll be back.

Keep riding

Keep Ruff Ryding

Peace
