There are seven candidates to fill three positions as EU status marshals for 2011:
- Rob Ashby, UK
- Donald Campbell, GER
- Gustavs Gailitis, LAT
- Ricardo Damborenea, ESP
- Petr Janousek, CZ
- Guillaume St Criq, FRA
- Petr Pletanek, GER
The duty of these guys will be to review race applications and award race statuses to individual races in a fair and timely manner. The position is valid for one year (all of the races in 2011).
Instructions:I will set up SEVEN different election topics and you are invited to vote in THREE of them. Please don't vote more than that as that may skew, or completely invalidate the results.
(This is not a foolproof election, but we'll give it a try anyway).
The elections are open for 7 days until Nov 12, noon (Central Europen time).
Thank you!
/Jani

I think I should introduce myself.
I'm Ricardo Damborenea, from Spain. I started skating in the early 70's. My skating CV includes being the both first Spanish Skateboard Champion (1979)...and one of the last ones too (Slalom-Special, 2009)!. Also I was the first spanish skateboarder to have a "pro-model" board (Sancheski RD - 1979).
I still skate, mostly slalom. I try to go to 3 to 5 slalom competitions a year. This year I broke my arm at the end of may, so the season was over for me before it started . My best position has been #4 in AM straight in Grenoble 2009.
I have also experience as organizer. I'm the founder and Vice-President of Madrid Old Skool Skaters, the largest skating association in Spain. I also organized the Spanish Championship in 2009 and our Outlawslalom series (2009 and 2010), now heading for the #9 chapter.
My (more boring) professional CV includes setting up and managing several businesses and sizable projects, skills that -on top of skating- can be relevant for the job .
If elected, I will humbly help my colleagues so you all can have a fast and fair status allocation process.
Thank you.
