Members of the actual Race Official Italian Organizing Committee met Martin the first time during his first race as promoter/organizer. It was 1988 and the race was held in Prague, named “Prague Euroskate 1988”. Since the very beginning a deep and true friendship was born with this gentle an motivated sporty behaving gentleman, which was emphasized in all the next international meetings and international collaborations held during the following years.
To honor his memory it has been decided to dedicate to him the race which will be held in our, by him loved Country which has had the honor to have him several times as a guest and as a friend.
The City of Sauze d’Oulx is located in the High Susa Valley, in Piedmont Region nearby Turin at an altitude of 1509 meter above the sea level. This winter sport city is one of the spot where the XX Winter Olympic Games Torino 2006 competitions have been held and is characterized by Alpine tradition in a wonderful geographical scenario. Last but not least, Sauze d’Oulx is one of the city inside the “Alpi Bike Resort” where all the outdoor activities liked trekking, climbing, mountaineering as well as tennis, soccer and beach volley can be successfully carried out.
The City Council decided to sponsor the skateboard race and to brandy new asphalt the course.
You all are invited to participate to this joined fun moment which will allow even better races in the next seasons.
