cone penality =0.10 sec
Will I have to bring my TS deck or will the C81 be enough? In other words: Is there to expect a tigher slalom or not?

tighter than in brixxleg, larger than in Paris ( 1m70 to 3m00):Imagine I expect to kill less than 5 cones :-) bring your ts and be ready to go fast in the giant.

Sunday Race

Post by Claude Regnier » Fri Sep 22, 2006 9:30 am

Hello!

We are in Zurich right now. We flew into Nice slept then drove up to here last night. We are looking forward to the 80 cones race on Sunday, EH!

Pierre are we using start ramps or not for the Sunday race in Antibes? or does the "Cyber Slalom Riderz Rules" mean no cones? I am a little confused :)

We expect to be back in Antibes Monday night or Tuesday morning at the latest. See you soon.

Hello Claude.
Of course we have big fast start ramp! and we use it for all the races.
The french cyber slalom say : No limit with pushing..So we'll use the ramp to enter fast.
First they put a rule which said : no more than 10% cones hit (so 4 cones max) but later everybody let down this rule and we just have 0.1 penality by cone.
best time is Patrick Allan (french amateur!!) with an incredible 8"64 just before Vlad Popov.
Not sure somebody can beat it here, the road may be not fast enought. Let's see.

Tell me when you arrive in Antibes Claude.

See you soon

Ok . I took out the list from the computer today : about 70 racers have enter.
15 french, 10 swiss, 10 swedish, 8 english, 10 Italians, 4 letvians, 2 canadians, 2 russians, 1 american and some from south africa (Jadranko) or newzeland(Markus)!?? but as I know them, I think the finger slide on the keyboard, when they enter the nationality :-).

Those who still want to add there name (and come for sure) can do it till 12 this morning.
After that you have to do it Saturday morning in La GAROUPE between 9 and 10 o'clock.

Now no more time to check the different site.

For any questions
email me to my work
newrider@wanadoo.fr

Thanks, see you soon.

Dear all,
unfortunately I will not attend the race in Antibes. In fact, I would prefer to stay near my wife who has to be at rest due to her pregnancy (now she is fine but she has to stay home without moving a lot). So, dear Pierre, I will come next year (...so you have to do it again!). To all the slalom community, please enjoy the race and the week end.
Good luck to everybody.

Stefano we will thinking of you when we'll be in the slalom.
I wish you a lot of good things for your wife and you and the futur baby.

So you have to wait 2008 (may be) to ride Antibes again.

So, to add to Stefanos post: I will stay at home for the same reasons, as I did for 80 Cones and I will do for the Great Western Race. Sometimes you have to set priorities.
The birth dates of Stefanos first and our second child are about the same date, which is quite funny. Let´s see who is faster this time!

I think we will keep you posted!

So far, everyone else, have fun at the races and fuel the stoke! Go for it!
May the fastest racer win!

Dear all, thanks so much for the replies!
I hope tha race was nice and everybody had what deserved.
We are fine and we'll see if we (or Chris Egger's family) will be the fastest.
The most important think is that, may be, just a guess, we'll have a new slalomers in few yers...
Take car and enjoy the winter season.

Hello all. Some fast answer before giving the complete results.
First I want to thinks all the racers. I think I make a good joke to the pros in including all the categories mixed in the tight...
In pro Chris Hart win the giant Luca the special and Ramon the straight
In am Hadestrand win giant and Gotberg special and straight
In junior Chrzanowski win giant and straight and Victor Hadestrand the special
in woman Lea Gasser win giant and straight, Lienite skariane the special
Unfortunatly rain come at night before the pro special finals, so we'll be in late on sunday and have to cancel the nations cup.

Complete results very soon here is now the SCRATCH ranking for the 3 slaloms

GÖTHBERG is once again INCREDIBLE!!! (For those who didn't know he's probably got 10 or more Swedish Championship titles in vert! Now he wants to gather some slalom titles.

...and a few of the other Am's were too. Just look at Hadestrands time in the Giant, and why not in the straight too.

The Nations Cup trophy was given to Switzerland, but I wonder if the Swedish Ams and juniors didn't collect more trophies than the Swiss.

Thank's Pierre and the whole Antibes crew for a pleasant weekend!

Yeah, Dom found his place directly within the Pros!!! ;)

a few pics
http://www.flickr.com/photos/vinzzz2001/tags/antibes/

The week end has been really painful for me - my first try to wakeboarding on friday was nice but I left a shoulder there I think!
http://flickr.com/photos/vinzzz/tags/wakeboard/
It was really hard to skate and I still feel pain one week after :( Definitely a bad year for my bones and my body!

But it was great to see some old friends, the Antibes crew and a part of slalom familly.
The Berru Team rocks with the young guns Pat'Allan (aka Harry Potter) and Adel (aka "Where's my money???")
We also had a lot of surprises like the car battery that didn't work so we couldn't go back to our house on Saturday night, the cat, wakeboard pain, Guillaume (Prin) who had a bad injury and the whole day to struggle to go to the urgence just before going to the train station to come back to Paris! ... and more...

But thank you to Pierre, Julian and all the people involved in the event ;)

Until next year!

I am sure Alice is pleased about having one if her photo in homepage... And If it is one of mine I am pleased too! (we shared my camera, and I cannot told who take what...)

No worries Mathias, you and Alice make a top photograhic team. Love the pics! Thanks for the usage permission on the UK site.

Campbell, you were missed! The GS board worked better than expected. It made a sportsman out of a layabout. Unbelieveable! Check those Pavels...

Thanks gents,

Sam
