Weather just beat us to it, so no racing this time.

On the upside, it was great to see a whole bunch of enthusiastic skaters ready to take part despite less than positive weather predictions, so it shows that these events are worth putting together. Whilst also offering skating, its a chance for like-minded souls to catch up, shoot the breeze and maybe even take away a few goodies.

Thanks very much to the die-hard skaters who made contributions to cover costs; it all helps towards putting on another event sometime in the future.

Thanks also to the organising crew of Stride and Nutsack for schwag and ramps, to Paul K and Clingfilm for timing setups and to all who assisted in the very necessary minutiae, from chalking up and setting out cones to the construction of ramps and gazebos. Thank you to Joel and the UKGSA for their support, it gives us the opportunity to put on a race in the UK. Next time we'll put all of these skills to their proper use!

Just for the record, on-site opinions will soon be available from Saft and Boneless Poductions, so any mention of the weather is recorded for perpetuity. April showers? In May?

Weather predictions for London tomorrow (Saturday) suggest that it'll be dry at least until 3pm, with a probability that poorer weather might not slip in until 5pm.

Provided we get things going in good time, we can certainly get plenty of racing in before the skies demand we head down to Burger King for a late lunch break.

Wind is in a similar direction as last time (West Southwest), so we'll set up on Hill 2 with practice on Hill 1.

Pre-registration for Saturday is now closed, however entries on the day are happily accepted and encouraged.

As regards the Godforsaken weather predictions, if we find that it is impossible to race on Saturday then the track will be available for a second chance on Sunday morning. 10:00 start has been mooted.

A decision will be made at the track on Saturday.

Best approach is by car from the M4. Head North on Junction 3 towards Southall, go straight over the first roundabout and then leave on the exit road up to the second roundabout. Take the right hand exit towards Southall on the A4020, moving over to the right-hand lane in order to take the first right into Springfield Road (It's the turning just after the large MFI warehouse and Wickes store).

If you are heading on down via pubic transport, then take the overground to Southall station and pick up either the 207 or 427 down the Uxbridge Road to Springfield Road:

The entrance to the cycle track is on the right before the turning point at the end of the straight section of road. It is rather inconspicuous, but is to the left of the Technicolour club and sportsground:

Slalom slope is image centre.

Overflow parking is in the park area a little further on from the track entrance and is open UNTIL 5:00pm. After this time it is locked!



Toilets are located by this parking area and are also SHUT AT 5:00pm:



Hut lowdown: bring your Thermos and dry teabag.

"...there are toilets at the front of the building. There are changing rooms, but no showers. There is plenty of off road parking between the changing rooms/toilets and track itself. There are kitchen facilites, tea urn, microwave, with mugs in cupboards under the counters. You will have access to them all, but please clean up the kitchen and main room after you."

Nearest food supplies are from a small store at the far end of Springfield Road, over the dual carriageway. Alternatively there is a Burger King at the next road down towards Southall by the Retail Park:



The approach to Southall after Spingfield Road is typically jammed with traffic, so the best exit is once again the M4 route.
