ISSA - International Slalom Skateboarding Association

The event in Uster and the event in Zurich was on slalom-series.ch with a description of the race. The Format was announced on ss.com as well.


If you look to the pdf file you see the definition what a good level of participants is.


The categories are in the rules. There is an separation between Pro and AM.


Took the time to study all the documents to have an overview.


I showed the project and it's benefits. It's now up to the contest organisers to decide what they want. ISSA was not able (me included) to get this things together in one year. The ESRT is my view including inputs from the people i mentioned many times and i asked now for more views from other organizers to get a standard we can all accept on it.

we better speak with one voice.
if we want to find big sponsors, we need a unique world wide system.
they even don´t understand our sport.
be sure they are not interested in different systems.

Will the competition organizers in Europe be expected to get TWO potentially different sanctions for each event?

One from the Euro Tour and one from the ISSA?

What will happen if the Euro Tour grants a low status and the ISSA a higher status? How about the other way around?

Won't that be confusing?

Why do we need a seperate (slightly different) approach to contest sanctioning?

A ‘good level of competition’ is not a sufficient definition. Indicate or pre-determine number of pros registered and attend for the event to attain each Star level.

Also is this an Open race format? Are you running separate divisions/classifications for juniors, women and such?

Please be sure you (in particular) along with other organizers inform possible participants of complete race information prior to the event; such as “the Course is FLAT”; “Special 80 Cone add-on event” with a description of how the event runs. It is very disappointing to travel thousands of miles to race and find out that it’s on flat at the last minute. Then several months later travel to another race expecting a tight 80 cone course and find out the real format will eventually lead you to an 80 cone race if you brought enough boards to adequately compete in several different races beforehand.

Statuses:

4 Star, highest level:
Main criteria for this level is:
A good level of Competitors and a big crowd (like Paris, Grenoble ?, Hannover, Riga, Zurich)

3 Star, high level:
Main criteria for this level is:
A good level of Competitors without a big crowd (like, Grueningen, Brixlegg, Anitbes)

2 Star, midle level:
Open Competitions without a separate PRO and AM class (like, Great Western)

1 Star, low level:
local competitions (like, Pirates)
