Thanks for the date

Sometimes it is exactly this kind of races that are most fun, no stress, no problems, just fun... but still super serious since now there is at least two frenchies on their way to kick some swedish ass... Can't wait for some köttbullar och potatismos.

See you in february

Just a reminder to all organizers, we are coming to the end of 2007 and we need to set a schedule for 2008. Please take long good look at your previous event and then ask yourself, do I want to do this? We hope you do and then ask yourself at what level you want it to be. Please consider other event already posted before setting a date. Me Ramon and Dominik hope to hear from you soon.

Hey Euro's, could you look at:

... and let me know what's missing? I'm trying to pull the pieces together and want to make I don't miss anything or insult anyone's national pride too bad.

Merci

Weatherproof fun!

Janis kuzmins wrote:Who is planing to organise Europian Championship???
I have heard no plans for it this year. As we usually try to rotate it, it would be cool if it would end up in a "new" place: Policka? Amsterdam? Switzerland (they deserve it the most!)

In order to give it a high status, it should be in a location (and more importantly run by an organization) where there has already been a prime (for example). That may rule out Amsterdam?

There is some planning going on. As a matter of fact, none has applied yet to hold the euros. As for Switzerland, there would be some interest from my side to probably organize a bigger event in 2009, which could take place as the euros...

no Second bigest competition this year in europe, sounds not serios.

1.Polička good, in 1988. was euros in czeh (20.years celebration)but dates 9-10 of august, one weak after worlds, not easy to make it for competitors.
2.may be Grenoble strayght second time (after last year euros first time video on internatiol tv .Eurosport and extreme. first time not only words about media coverige about slalom. they have good expirience from last year. minus - no rotation, (and need other place for gigant)
3.Amsterdam??? i have no info about Amsterdam last year, but for euros need good organisation with a lot of people in this proces. how show it expirience its not posible to make it with few peple.
4.what ELSE?
may be England?
may be Switzerland?
Or Italy?

Any way we need a euros?and need to think about it now?

is Policka the WE before Goteborg?
is Amsterdam the WE after?

We are trying to plan our travel and buy plane tickets, but we can not have any confirmation about that dates.

well, that is the big issue: the dates. But I can say this much: Policka is one week after Gothenburg and Amsterdam is going to be determined...you'll have an update soon!

we are waiting for the update

dates and locations...

Yeah, dates or locations... we have learned our lesson, no more early buying tickets here. Totally agree with Guillaume, if a location or date is not definitive it should be mentioned on the calander. Traveling cheap with non-refundable tickets is not really compatible with changing dates.

I spoke with Flavio...he is planning on doing his one week before Göteborg and Policka on the weekend after. But it will be all set in a few time, and it will be soon enough. Don't worry, your tickets will still be cheap.

Hey Marshall Domski, could You please ask all organizers of the european contests to tell us...

how much the entry fees for pros and ams are?

I could not find any information on this in the current application documents.
I remember last year this information was given by all organizers before decisions on the status were made.
Every serious organizer should be able to do so.
This information is essential for my (and certainly other's) travel-planning.

Flavio, there is no problem for me if you take your time to make sure every detail covers or is covered by the budget of your race. As you know if time allows I will participate in your race anyway (unless the entry fee might turn out to be extremly high, wich I don't expect so far).

Due to my personal annual "racing-budget" I might have to decide if I participate in Paris or in Gothenborg for example. If I take last year's prices for travelling and entry fees in account to compare my personal basic budget needed for the 2 events, I would easily spent 50%! more money to participate in Paris than in Gothenborg due to the high entry fee in Paris for Pros (one hundred Euros!).

Josef, thank you for the quick answer.
Enter fee PRO submitted and paid before 20/03/2008: 40€

We are not charging 100 euros for sure.

Plus we are putting together a camping site
and... a large tent (military style) where "traveling-on-low-budget" competitors will stay for free.

Last year, Grenoble did not hold the Euro : it has title, but not Major Status

Grenoble now GET a new place for Giant Slalom and deserve Euros Champ status !

When will other statuses for contests? Please.

Announcement: European statuses 2008

Posted: Sun Feb 17, 2008 1:12 pm
by Dominik Kowalski
Here are the statuses for 2008:

Major:
Gothenburg (World Championships)

Main:
Paris
Hannover (European Championships)
Riga
Policka
Grenoble

Prime:
Prague Slalom Cup
GOG outlaw
Airflow BBQ
Amsterdam Slalom Cup
...so far..

Hannover will take place in the end of June, so we don't think it is too early in the season, and besides that no one else wanted to go for it, BANG!
Prague and GOG in Cologne, are on the same weekend, but it is geographically wide spread out, so no one steals each others racers...BA BANG!
Now, as you can see, we 'll have every month a Main contest well spread out through the year, from May to September. From Paris we travel (almost) clockwise to Grenoble. Looks like a super fast and successful year of slalom! ...so far, so good.
Yehhhaaaa!!!
