WC indoor 2008, Gothenburg (!), Feb 24, 2008

I know it has been sadly promoted, but like I said in the beginning of all this. the race is simple and meant to ease the pain for those who like to race 24/7/366 this year.

The race is on in Gothenburg, why, well the venue is far better and we can run dual lane with big start ramps. Like I said before, it is a simple race but fun and there will be good competition. The world champion will be there, the fastest man alive will be there (world record holder 100 cones), The half fastest man in the world (world record holder 50 cones) will be there. 6 or 7 of the top 16 Europeans will be there so it will be a great day of racing.

Straight
Tight (and I mean tight)
Cali cyber

The race will start at 11 on Sunday the 24 of February 2008

Get there on Saturday to train and party at night. No one who is not hung over will not be allowed to start.

Start fee 100 SEK

Thanks Klangster!

Cool and the gang... ;) Just out of interest, how "tight", just in case we should decide to practice...and the straight, 1.7m, 1.6m or less?
Martin.

ps. I like "The half fastest man in the world"...made me laugh!..at least you didn't say "the fastest half-man in the world"!

Thanks Peter,
Thats perfect, last couple of questions-
-what time do we skate on saturday?
-whats the easiest way for the 5 of us to get from the airport to the hotel (and back on Sunday)?
Cheers,

1,6-1,7 cm what do you mean is not like a mans?:-)

Martin, I´ll ask the locals. I´m from Stockholm (the only City in Sweden) and I think the 08 crew will be in GBG around 3 p.m so any time after that I´ll guess.

lets braek something

Please if it is possible let us know what time the saturday trainings will start, because I'm on my way to the airport...

Problems...

Looks like Jeff is sitting behind a huge tailback on the M25 on the way to the airport, so its touch-and-go if he will make it...fingers crossed! He was going to pick me up, but I'm jumping on a train, there is no point both of us missing the plane... :(

Is anyone passing by the Riga Hotel and has room in their car for the British Boys? If so, post here or send a text to the number on my previous post....
Thanks,

By the way we had the scariest landing any of us has EVER had last night! High speed gusts, crosswinds and sinks meant 2 passes by the pilot and almost a wing touch...it was damned scary, like "Final Destination"!

Did you fly into GSE? Then I think this is normal. Happened to us too last year.

Have fun at the competition! I can even skate outside here at home...well I could, if there wasn't that little something called graduation paper....

Shame that you are not here Ramon - it looks like I am the only one with Airflow board(now I have Ramon pro model)...And the swedish look so FAASSSSTTT!
i fly with Fokker 500 (or something) and pilot said: due to wind we maybe land in COPENHAGEN! Finally everything was O.K. and we already had trainings in the race place!

Thank you guys so much for making us welcome with your super friendly attitudes and sense of fun. Also for giving us lifts between venues and the airport (Ulf and the guys!).
I personally had a great time and enjoyed the challenging courses. Great to see lots of clean, fast runs at 1.55m too! We need to work on our ramp starts though....mind you, our 'training' seemed to consist of staying out until 2 or 3am every morning drinking Sambucas which probably doesn't help...
Thanks Peter for all your hard work...it was a fun get together.

One thing that really made me laugh was finding out that the Swedes, instead of saying 'Mongo', say 'Chickenfoot'!-I love it!

It was cool to finally put some more faces to names, Robert, Dr. Longboard etc I hope to skate with you all again some day.
Its great to see that the next generation are charging so hard as well (Pelle's 10 yr old protege was awesome), the future looks bright in Sweden too and makes me realise that we need to get more British kids involved.

Again, thank you all!

Martin.

I am still trying to contact Mika. Ramon got an e-mail address for me (thanks!), but its the same one that keeps bouncing my e-mails back! mikaelhadestrand@comhem.se
He had asked me to contact someone on his behalf regarding sponsorship for the Summer WC 2008 event and I need to touch base with him and there is some urgency as there is a big meeting this Thursday..
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
