Transit

Post by Sam Gordon » Fri Aug 08, 2008 5:42 pm

I've just received a text from Louis Selby to say that he is in travelling down from Berlin and will not be able to make the shuttle at Prague and so will head to Policka by train. He should arrive much later this evening. Please delete him from the shuttle list.

If anyone else reads this, and is taking the shuttle, then please pass on the above information so that no-one is kept waiting.

If Tomas P or Patrik reads this, then just to keep you updated I'm at Gatwick airport departure waiting for Paul Price to arrive. We are currently on schedule and looking forward to seeing you in Prague!

Thankyou,

Sam

THANX

Post by Emrik Larsson » Tue Aug 12, 2008 10:35 am

Thanx for a fun and well organised contest.
Even though I skated quite poorly, I had a good time in Policka.
For future competitions I wish that you would have the courses downhill, and skip the flat-races!

peace and skate on..

Pretty cool that we were racing and partying in CZ and NY at the same time. Maybe next year I can "Phil Collins" it and hit both contests up :-)

I'm glad things are happening in CZ, I actually tried to find Stefka on a visit to CZ after Paris 04. Sadly he had not surfaced yet. I look forward to returning for a race.

Side question, how were the ramps?

Is it just a coincidence that Mika Hadestrand was in the picture at the same time they said that you have to physically fit to do slalomskateboarding? :-)

Nice report though, was it broadcasted or is it just a internet station?

As far as I know it was broadcasted. The reporter told us that up to 200 million (Chinese) would watch it.

Sandrine and I would like to thank you all for making possible this 3 weeks of slalom racing across Europe.

It was nice to see all of you again, and it was a real pleasure to meet George, Cat, Skip and all racers we did not see before in Europe.
We are already planning our US trip for next year :D

Thank you Flavio, Dutch & GOG crew for Amsterdam Euros!
Maybe everything was not what we can expect for a main slalom event, but races were fair and competitive (even with timing system issues) and we had fun. We hope to come again next year.

Thank all the Czech guys too. Policka is also a place we want to come back in 2009.
You guys were really friendly and organisation was perfect.
Maybe you just need another race place for the special slalom (eg giant place, with parallel races)

And last but not least thanks to the Gothenburg crew for holding the Worlds : for sure one of the biggest competiton ever. You deal with rain issues and make everything happen.
Just a thought : 80 euros is pretty expensive for racers when there is no meal in the package.

Another general thought : women category should always be consider as PRO. We can't ask for more ladys to come racing, when this is often this category wich suffer from schedule & timing issues. It must always be Women finals, even for 2 or 4 racers ! it take only few minuts.

Hope to see most of you in Grenoble

Guillaume & Sandrine
