[2009] EUROPEAN TEAM CONTEST August 1-2 [PRIME]
AUGUST 1.-2.2009 Hradec Králové CZE
(PRIME status)
Saturday – afternoon Tight parallel slalom (individual), Team contest - hybrid parallel in the center of the town in the night – lighted. Sunday – Giant slalom (individual), results can be integrated to the team championship.
Next week 7.-9.: Policka (MAIN candidate)
Ideal posibility to join two contests and have a wonderful holilys in the Czech Republic. We also starting to work with the TV chanell CT4Sport. Contest sanctions will be sent in after some more details will be precised.
Attractive and exciting sk8 slalom competition.
There must be a team of 3 skaters from each country ( exceptionaly mixed team). Head to head system is applied for the teams. The result will always be 3:0 or 2:1 and one team is advancing.
Each team has a Team captain, who is responsible for the team. The Team captain can be a competitor. The Team captain will sign up three riders for the contest. He will also set their starting order for the qualification runs.
The qualification always has two runs as usually, one run in one course. Teams or Countries will draw lots for the starting position in advance. In the first run the all 3 members of the team go in one course against the all 3 members of the opposite team and for their second runs they will switch their courses. There is no elimination in the qualification.
Better run counts and the total time equals the time plus the cone penalty. The better runs of all 3 team members are summed together and this time equals the final qualification team time. These times determine 1.-8. positions, in case of more than 9 teams, the 9th and higher final positions are set for them.
The better time from the qualification of each team member sets his position within the team for the elimination runs. In the head to head the best team member will compete against the best rider from the competitor team. Then the second best riders and then the third ones will compete. There is no aggregate time for the team, but winners are receiving points for their battles. So the total result will be 3:0, 2:1, 1:2, 0:3.
Head to head:
The 3rd team member of the 1. team against the 3rd team member of the 8. team
2.1. – 2.8.
1.1. – 1.8.
3.2. – 3.7.
2.2. – 2.7.
1.2. – 1.7.
3.3. – 3.6.
2.3. – 2.6.
1.3. – 1.6.
3.4. – 3.5.
2.4. – 2.5.
1.4. – 1.5.
Competitors will switch their courses for their second run. The consequent time is the totaled time of the both runs.
The eliminated teams final position on 5.-8. place is based on their qualification results.
The winning teams go to the semifinals and then to finals under the same system. Eliminated teams will get their final 3rd and 4th position based on their qualification results.
We were thinking over the first version of the team contest for a long time. There are many other variations possible, but we decided for this easy elimination system as the organizer can handle the whole contest better.
Who will come to represent his country at the team contest?
Josef
