May 16-17 2009, Airflow Slalombrunch, Thalwil ZH, CH

I'm pleased to announce that we will organize the 7th edition of the Airflow Slalombrunch.

This year the race will be part of a 10-event race series called the Burningwheelstour 2009.

As always, the Airflow Slalombrunch is a good opportunity for beginners to start with racing as well as for advanced Amateurs and Pros. The the barbecue and brunch make our event very laid-back and you get a lot of time to talk and race.

One day fun race, one day ISSA world cup race.

Juniors and Women get a special deal.

More information soon.

Is it possible to camp near the venue? I'm thinking of flying out there on Friday 15th so I can be there for the full weekend but obviously need to sort out accommodation first! Any ideas?

Yes, we are camping there Saturday night anyway.

You either get there Friday nght (Chris might sleep there Friday night already) or you stay with someone...

Don't worry about it. Just let us know when your flight is.

Sweet! I'll be flying out on the Friday evening to make sure I'm there for both days. Just trying to find the cheapest flight and get the funds together! Soon as I've got definite times I'll post again. Thanks and see you there!

Just bought my ticket! Yay! I think there's 2 of us coming from Brighton on the same flight now. We'll be flying Friday eve, getting in to Zurich at 19.40 local time. If we jump on the train and head straight there will it be cool to camp? If not is there anyone that can let us crash on their floor? Cheers

Either option will work, don't worry about it. Just contact me one day before you leave so I can give you a final update!

Stoked you guys are coming down!

There is also a great hotel down the hill, I stayed there last year!

by Mike Allison
Had a look on google map, looks like there's a half-pipe too at the bottom of the road! If there is then sod the hotel! Slalom all day, half-pipe all night! ha ha ha! (Bugger! That's another board to pack... May just ditch the tent to make room. Now that's dedication for you!)

Positive about the half pipe and some street elements.

Hi Antonio, do you have details of the hotel at the bottom of the hill?
Or indeed if anyone knows... post it up soonest please!

Thankyou,

Sam
What do you mean camping is fun?

Here my post about the Hotels from last year – for those among you who don't want the camping experience ;)

---------------

There is one that is very close: Hotel Sternen - Map

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the rates. Maybe there is also a B&B somewhere around. I could ask some friends of mine who live in that town if they can recommend something...

and another one next to the train station, but that one is probably too expensive. ( http://www.sedartis.ch )

But anyways, most of us will be sleeping outside, in tents or at the local sports facility. And there is also a scouts headquarter pretty close to the race track...

Thanks Ramon. 120-140 CHF. The camping is looking more tempting!

Big thanks to Ramon for all of the hard work at the weekend ON HIS BIRTHDAY and to Chris and the team for a great couple of days in the Swiss hills above the Zurichsee. Team UK have all returned with sunstroke and both mental and physical exhaustion. Oh, and a sizeable cow in Rob's skatebag.
