I only know these details about the GS, but that's also the most important as it is the first race. The rest is at the stadium and it is open all the time for practise, with only small interruptions during some of the installations:

Giant Slalom is on Friday the 25:th from 14.00 to 18.00.

In Sassenage, secondary road RD531
GPS information :
- Latitude : 45.2121570
- Longitude : 5.6555557

PS. Unfortunately I will not make it this year. I have a business meeting in Stockholm that I have to attend. Wishing you all a great event - have fun!

<center> /!\ /!\ INFO SKATEBOARD SLALOM /!\ /!\

Despite all the permissions we got for the Giant in Sassenage, the prefect, and the departemental road manager do not allow us to make the competition happens on the spot we first announced because of the trafic (more than 3 000 vehicles a day).

We are currently releasing the plan B, that consists in making the competition happens in another spot, in Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux.
The spot is CLOSER from the speed ring than the previous one, and it is still a 500m long and 10% gradient slope !

MAP :
Image

GPS INFORMATION :
Latitude: 45.2045982 - Longitude: 5.7187271

We are waiting on one last permission to make the competition happen, and we will let you know about it, but things are going pretty well at the minute.

We are sorry for the disapointment, but we cannot go against a political decision like this.

Best regards from SUNNY (and warm) Grenoble !

Pity that I must miss this event after racing in Grenoble for last 3 years - it has always been a well organized event and I hope that it will be the same also this year (I had a serious thumb fracture so I will have an operation on Tuesday... )

Good luck to everybody - have fun ! ! !

Please, post results asap ;)

i just get some fresh news from Michel, live from Grenoble...
Today was hot and fast... and it s now beer time :D

TS results :
1 Janis
2 Ramon
3 Christophe
4 Michel

After TS, they all try to break 50 cones WR.
It seems it was epic.
  • In junior class, Christopher Dupont break the WR (and french record).

In the men class, Ramon took the WR but, five minuts later, Janis took it from him!
Congrats to all !

But I went on and reconfirmed my time in three consecutive attempts. That's a new record as well. Anyone who can set the same time in more than three consecutive runs? ;)

Anyway, it was an all in all good weekend. A pity there weren't too many participants. It was totally worth it for the GS and WR attempts. Let alone the racing was close between me and Janis both days. But it was closer between me and Dominik. I think we have the record in almost hitting the time switches simultaneously.

The GS probably was one of fastest we've had in Europe. Even though they had to change the venue it didn't make it a downfall. But we are hoping that maybe next year the city will let us use the BIG road. That was pretty lame that the city told the organization so short noticed that they cannot run the event on the big road, who then had to pass on the bad news to the riders. Feel sorry for you guys it didn't work out.
But as I said: It wasn't a downfall.

Thanks!

The downhill was indeed a steep and fast course with a footbreak stop required.
Racing in the stadium was hot hot hot - 38c I think. Well done to Janis!

Such a nice and hot week-end. Happy to be back on the slalom scene even if it's just to help on the organization.

Philippe make the maximum to have a nice show...some trouble few days before the events with a passionless responsable of the french administration, but Philippe find another road in 3 days to put the giant.
I want to thanks all the racers who come to put the show. Epic but friendly dual between Janis and Ramon. World record with crazy suspense till the end!

I give you some result I keep in my pocket after the rewards. I think Jean Sebastien put all the complete he has in his computer when he will back.

Hi guys !

We are really glad you enjoyed the spot for the giant slalom, and the DéSaXé World Ride in general !

Indeed, the giant slalom championship has been something hard to plan this year.

We encountered some troubles with the first spot, especialy because of the french administration (God bless that country... ;) ), but we luckily had another spott, and we are extremely glad you had fun while running on that 10% GRADIENT (A GOOD 10%... :p) slope !

As Ramon said, it was a really fast one, maybe the fastest in Europe, and all the racers really enjoyed it ! ! We wanted to thank them all for coming ! !

Beautiful weather, nice people, good competition, beautiful cheerleaders, nice food, good atmosphere... Everything was in Grenoble last week-end for an amazing show !

However, we put so much effort on the giant slalom competition, for not that much riders. It was certainly not quantity, but quality riders we got there !

Everything went really well, but now we have to think about the next edition, and we are wondering if to put some much effort, and energy, for not that much results. We are addressing you a message to regain consciousness : You should ask yourself some questions about your sport, and also about who REALLY make this competition possible ? Because we plan it... But YOU race it... and YOU make it real...

It is your messages, your envy, and your ambition to participate to the event that will make us organise it in 2011...
We already booked the date, and the DéSaXé World Ride 5th edition. It will take place the 25th June for the Giant, and the 26th and 27th June 2011 at the Speed Ring.

For any queries, any question, any coments, please send an email to : organisation@desaxe-worldride.eu

We hope to see you ALL next year :)

@Ramon

i am wondering what kind of airflow boards you were using at Grenoble.
Looking at some pics, i was not able to recognize your foxy pro model.
Same things in the giant, it seems you were not using your C81.

Is there some new slalom stuffs to come soon from Airflow Skateboards? ;)
