ISSA - International Slalom Skateboarding Association

European championships 2012 - 14 & 15 July.

The courses:

Saturday - GS in Priekuli (same hill we used last year for ''Gints Gailitis memorial cup''' (We will have a shuttle bus for international riders because the place is 90km from Riga), The hill is quite steep. The course will be 50-60 cones, 2-4,5m apart. The course will be set in the morning of competition or the day before by riders from abroad with the help of one local rider. Every rider will get two timed runs (if everything goes as planned, small ''fun downhill'' competition or old-school high jump will happen too). We are planning to arrive at the place at 10am, start at 11am. You can see the hill in this Frank Sommer video from last years event - http://vimeo.com/29687305

Sunday - single line HS & dual line TS in Riga, Mezaparks (same park, but different location - I will post pics this evening). Small slope, but not wide enough for dual line HS. We are planning to start asap, probably 9am. The courses will be around 50 cones. In HS the cones will be 1,7-2,5m apart, but in TS probably something around 1,8m (same course for everybody), The course will be set in the morning of competition or the day before by riders from abroad with the help of one local rider. In HS every rider will get two timed runs, in TS 2 qualification runs and then if everything goes ok, there will be finals for 4 or 8 best women and junior riders + 16 or 32 open riders (depends on how smooth everything goes and number of riders). Sunday event might end quite late (probably 5-6pm)- I could post approximate schedule but as we all now, it never goes as planned ;)


Entry fees:

OPEN - 60 euros
Women, juniors - 30 euros
Registration will start in next few days (I will post the link)!


Prizes:

As it is written on sanction application form - Minimum 1000 Euros (Combined money prize + value of other prizes), but it all depends on number of riders!


Accommodation:

We have special deal with http://www.dayshotelriga.com/ ( it is on main street of Riga, located 10min from city center).
Price for skateboarders is 37Euro SGL un 42Euro TWIN (with breakfast included). To book for this price you must write directly to
our contact person - his e-mail sm@dayshotelriga.com and say that you are coming for ''European championships in slalom skateboarding 2012''!
I would highly recommend to stay in this hotel, we haven't yet choosed afterparty place for saturday evening but maybe it will be in this hotels bar + this hotel will be the stop for the shuttle bus to GS hill (maybe the shuttle bus will have other stops too - it depends where you guys will stay ;) !

The race poster will be finished next week (still negotiating with some sponsors).

Hello!

Can anybody of organizers help us with invitations for Latvian consulate for 4 riders from Russia? We have to make visas every time we visit Europe and taking into consideration upcoming Shtuttgart and Grenoble it will be desirable to make one long-lasting visa to cover all events. I asked Gustavs but have no answer yet..

dominik-coming back with almost no practice and recovering from a severe throat infection still on medication
all i can say is:wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kathrin had a bit more practice for sure-but still not enough then again she makes it to the euro title again.
