ps. Topic title updated to two days.

City authorisation approved. (It's not always that we get it so early!)

Yesterday the RiderZ Association held their annual meeting and elected a new group of officers. Erika Schoirfer is still president, Jean-Sébastien Dennebouy treasurer and Philippe Goupille, is the new secretary. Philippe was one of the cone marshals in 2012 and is now stepping up his support.

The RiderZ association is fully supporting slalom and it was clear there a 100% commitment to the Paris Slalom World Cup, being the main event of RiderZ again this year. As before it will be held in conjunction with the inline slalomers (using the flat part), and with them taking the centre stage and handling the infra structure, incl resturation, electricity etc for us.

Here are the plans so far:

- ISSA PRIME candidate
- Two day event
- Three disciplines (TSS, SPC, GS)
- Four categories MEN, WOMEN, MASTERS, JUNIORS
- Registration at http://www.slalomranking.com (go to your profile page, log in, then sign up)
- We'll be using the same slope as last year.
- We'll be using the same ramps as last year (Thanks Michel Dupont!)
- Registration fee around EUR 65 and will include race t-shirt and two meals
- Saturday night we'll try to get an after race together
- The classic Eiffel towers trophies, will be back
- No prize money, unless miraculously a sponsor shows up
- We have the support of a couple of sponsors already, but more are welcome. We need goodies to distribute for the overall classification, not only to the top three.

We'll be back with regular updates.

Looking forward to see you all in Paris again!

PSWC 2013 - Race registration

Race registration:

For the log-in (the same as for the forum) to work you need to have your forum profile linked with your ranking profile. If that hasn't been done, send Corky an email with your forum user ID (hoover over your name on a post, or in a listing where you can see something like u=9999 and the end of the post). This is a one time procedure.

At the same time let Corky know of your birth year (not month or day). That'll make sure you are appropriately ranked as Master, Junior, or if nothing else it'll be a nice update to your racer profile in the ranking.

Race registration through SlalomRanking is still in kind of early implementation stage, but it works and was used already last year. Throughout the year the ISSA will be encouraging race organizers to use this feature as their sole registration method.

OK, we now have 50 registered racers for PSWC 2013.
As you all already know, the event is limited to 50 racers, so we now start the "first paid first served" basis

updated registration list is here : http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/FSSA/ ... islist.php

Don't miss it!

Here's some race information in preparation for the upcoming event.

SCHEDULE

SATURDAY, MAY 25
11-14 Giant slalom
14-16 Tight slalom, qualification
16-19 Tight slalom, finals

SUNDAY, MAY 26
10-12 Special/Hybrid, qualification
13-16 Special/Hybrid, finals
16.30 Prize ceremony

RULES - clarifications

- Random beep start will be used in all races, including in qualification runs.
False start means DQ.

- Masters will have their own finals. Typically this category will be for AM Masters, ie the same as on the SlalomRanking registration page.

- Skaters are only allowed to participate in one category, but there is some room for adjustment, according to your skill level:

- Juniors are allowed to race in the Open class instead of in Junior class.

- Masters (AM) are allowed to race in the Open class instead of the Masters class

- Masters (Pro) are allowed to "step down" to Masters class (but will then not qualify for the Open class).

- Trophies will be awarded to the top three racers overall in each of these categories: Open, Masters, Women, Juniors.

- Overall points will be calculated by the ISSA World Ranking.

- Sponsor goodies will be distributed by a lottery draw - equal chance for everyone to enjoy sponsor stuff.

- Registration (if slots are still available) and payment is possible early Saturday morning, before the start of the GS, but fees are +10 EUR.

- For your Master class assignment to be valid, you need to be recorded as Master in the ISSA World Ranking. Make sure you have reported your birth year (year is enough) to CorkySwe@gmail.com. Master = 45+

RACE ORGANIZATION

- Organized by RiderZ in association with FSSA and ISSA

- PSWC Main Organizer: Erika Schoirfer

- Race Director: Jani Söderhäll

- Time keeping: Hans "Corky" Koraeus

- Race Committee: Jani Söderhäll, Guillaume StCriq, Erika Schoirfer, Hans "Corky" Koraeus, Philippe Goupille

- Protests must be presented no later than 20 minutes after the cause for the dispute.

We are looking forward to race and meet you all!

Here's a few more pieces in preparation for the weekend:

- Starting lists: The GS and TS will be held in the reverse order of the ranking system, but with some manual adjustments to avoid two nationals riding against each other. Juniors first, then ladies, then Masters AM then Amateurs, then Pros. Note, there is no separate Pro class though. These event will run as an Open.
The HS will be ran in the reverse order of the result of the TS. Possible DQs and other non placed riders may be merged into the starting list at suitable places according to their skill level (according to possibilites).

- Rain: It's been raining a lot these last days in Paris, and it seems it'll stop towards the weekend, but the prognosis is not yet trustworthy. For Sunday we are looking at an alternative in a tunnel closed for traffic, but it may have to be on flat. A bit of rain will not damage the whole event. Trocadero normally dries pretty quickly once it stops raining, so we will not easily abandon the classic red race location at Trocadero.

- World Ranking: Although everyone races in Open class, Pros will get Pro points if there are more than 8 Pros present (should be OK according to the current starting list). Masters of the Pro class, will be ranked after the AM masters in the ISSA World Ranking, as they AM Masters are running a special Masters event.

Guys !!!! We have a little surprise for you Saturday night.
We'll party in a really special place, the best area to visit in Paris and to be on Saturday night.
This place is an oldschool roller night club, it'll be destroyed in a few weeks.
So let's party Saturday night and skateboard too if you arrive early ;)

All information about the club and the way to go Saturday morning will be handed out at the event.
The Club is quite close to the Trocadero cheaper than a simple bar and because of PSWC we'll have a skateboard cloakroom.

See Ya' on Saturday for both good racing and partying ;)

The rain is pouring down in Paris, but we still have some hope that we will be able to run at least one part of Saturday's planned events tomorrow, so if it's dry early morning, please get there early, get your one-site registration done (please pay with exact amounts) and warm up as quickly as possible. Use the second slope for pure warm up and we'll keep the race side for official trial runs in the actual race course. To get started as early as possible there only two runs on the actual course will be allowed, and we may have to restrict that to one if forced by the time (and the rain that threatens us). Everyone will still be allowed at least one trial run.

If we're sufficiently organized and everything is ready on time, we may actually let the Juniors, Ladies, then Masters do their official runs mixed in with the warm-up, and that may actually be prior to the announced starting time. As this is a late announcement we're doing this only for those who are present, and willing to get going. Others, who may have not read this announcement will be able to start at the official time 11 o'clock.

The current (emergency) plan for tomorrow is:

- Tight slalom (straight), dual qualification with random beep start
- Giant slalom (large hybrid), single lane with random beep start
- If time allows, head-to-head tight finals for Open, Masters, Ladies and Juniors

Sunday, current plan:

- Special slalom, dual qualification with random beep start
- If time allows, head-to-head finals for Open, Masters, Ladies and Juniors

Let's hope for a smooth yet exciting event despite the weather.

thank you Robert!
it was also a great pleasure to see you all again here in Paris.
We hope all of you have fully enjoyed!

We are so happy we could deal with all races because weather forecasts few days before the events were so bad.

As always before the event, we were wondering if it would be our last orgqnisation here, but like every year, you all motivated us to make it once again next year.

so stay tuned for a PSWC 2014!!!

Now, next stop is with our Italian friends in Milano!
