We'll soon have to pay you to go to the races so we can get more video clips!
Oh, yes!

That is a good idea Jani.
For the clips that will need some helping from the slalom community. It's not always easy keeping track of who is who there.
This is maybe something to do for the final CD version.
A list of final results is easier. Unfortunatly it seems like the Grüningen results are lost for good though.

Corky,
The fourth part is superb!!
The bails on that video are among the best I've seen from slalom racing. I don't know how you managed to capture them - you were racing yourself!
The criddling section is excellent and very fun. Made me want to reevaluate if criddling should be something I should make use of. But then again you see Paul Price and Luca going through as if there was no reason to criddle.
We'll soon have to pay you to go to the races so we can get more video clips!
It would have been good to end it all with a resumé of the results or to show the names of the riders as they go through the course.

A fourth and last part from Grüningen is now ready for download. It's a little bit from second days Giant slalom.
See film post above.

It wasn't straightforward to get hold of the free version of RealOne. And their site is different for the three different languages I tried, but yes there is a free RealOne player. Don't try the trial version. No need.
But I'd like better quality on the movie. I want TV quality! Even on the web, but I have a good connection... Please put all of your little movies on a CD later on, so that the collectors among us can keep it in the archives.

Hans,
If you do get up to MPG format. Do all the past stuff too if you can. I'd like to see some of your work. I'm not gunna pay for a RM player to view your current work. But that flash above is great work.

Just watched Part II, it’s better then T3-Reloaded. It’s interesting how the Sandbagger of the year is interviewing Paul Price. Luca hits cones with the same energy he skates. When it flies, it really flies.

Aaaah! I will get hate mail soon. I'm sorry only real media format this time as well. I had problems with my wmf compile as well. Got to update my video editor soon.
Part 2 of the Grüningen saga is up for download for you who can handle the rm format.

Hans..... MPEGs are the best and play the best in most players. I'm a mac user so I would of course prefer quicktime but that is even worst than Real for most users.
try offering both .RM and .WMF for the next one, see which one users like most, if you can try a .MPG too without sound to see the video quality.
great videos BTW

Chris,
I think Real media is good when it comes to do small "lookable" versions. If you want to compile large files then you might be right. I have some problems compiling quicktime films for the moment. But I can do wmf. I will try that for the second film.
Vlad,
There are no old men doing slalom. Only old boys.

Corky, at the end of Part One did you mean to say Old Men?

Hans..these videos are great but can we get them, especially the last one, as .MPGs. Real Player is utterly useless and the video quality/playback is very very poor. I'd even take windows media over .RM.
Even if the same .MPG comes out to be 15-20mbs it is better.
please!

Here are the first of some short films edited from the competition. It is a little bit less compressed than usual. Good. Bigger size though. Bad.
These films will need the "RealOne player"! If it doesn't work with your current "Real media player" download a new one from
Real.
Gruningen part 1 5.4Mb 320x256.
Gruningen part 2 5.4Mb 320x256.
Gruningen part 3 8.9Mb 320x256.
Gruningen part 4 7.6Mb 320x256.

I'm F#ing Neo! After Gary Fluitt gave me the Red pill (or was it the blue? I don't remember) I now know the secrets of the Matrix. Don't F#ck with me Mr Anderson!
P.S. Jani. Take away these posts later. It would be nicer to keep this topic clean and tidy.
