Maria -
Thanks for the filming you do; video, stills, computer stuff, updating-posting, and reporting, and for supporting my brother Richy, {THE BROWN BOMBER} in his endeavors!

....hey, that's you Maria!
Sorry, I couldn't make it to JPL - Bobby Joe {BIG BUFORD] had a BIG Bowling Tournament, and he wanted me to watch him.
I get a big kick out of watching "THE OTHER" Carrasco Brother rip up the bowling alleys !
We all gotta hit "Lobster Village" again sometime !
........-Rene' "Flying" Carrasco Brother.

GUERRILLA ROAD REPAIR
Armed with trowels, brushes and sponges, we loaded buckets of cement dyed with black house paint pigment to match the road onto old beat up kicktails and rolled them past the locked gate and down the JPL hill. We filled in all the potholes we could get to, then went back home and mixed more cement. We went back and fixed the bottom half of the road, making the lip at the concrete water crossing into a smooth little rise.
NOW,
WE GOT RUNOUT!
Not to mention all kinds of future course setting options. Suicide steep tight racing coming up.

Thanks for posting those pictures Maria. Even that overview shot doesn't show the whole hill. Between 40 and 50 cones, wide open GS, but the offsets are makeable. Basically the top of the course is lightning fast, and then you've got to figure out a way to haul it all in to make the corners as you near the bottom of the steep chute. Going slow, the course is quite makeable. At speed, you may be having an intimate conversation with God by the bottom. I'm sorry there is no shuttle bus, Glenn, but the repeated trek back up helps to build the kind of iron thighs and calves needed to hold a line at these speeds. This place is not for beginners or kids. Safety gear is highly recommended, leather not a bad idea at all.

Oh sh!t.
This hill reminds me of the roads we chose in the Mummy Mnt areas of Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Desert Jewel racing with cones!
Yeah, good stuff. Thanks for posting the pictures Maria, hope to have more about this race and this sort of racing here.
Remember, we have a "magazine" [slalom!] and articles are welcome and will receive front page press. Contact Jani if anyone is interested as this is the sort of stuff we are DEFINATELY looking for.

Hey Mike,
I hear that hill is steeper and faster than WLAC. Did I hear correctly that you've been practicing up there with Charlie Ransom? How would you compare that course to any of the hills that the FCR races were run on?
As you get a list of RSVP's let us know here who is showing up.
It is on my calendar. Could I come up there sometime in January and try the hill? I don't know any place near as steep as WLAC where I can put down some cones to practice.
Glenn
