Nice job Vlad! It looks like 66 is the grass roots promoter to beat. We need a few more guys like him.

Looked like a fine hill- and good timing- any video? With Aki and Vlad running at the top- my guess it was a fast course on good surface.

BTW 66- when is the Athens to Atlanta race- it was a famous rollerskate race 88miles or something along those lines. Did that race make it easier to get permits?

Friday night outlaw results:

1. Aki $500!!!!
2. Vlad
3. Low J (Madison, GEORGIA'S own!!)

66 will post the times somewhere I'm sure.

Not sure how the rest of the field fared. Hollien and 66 were up there. Mississippi was representing in a BIG way. I charged like a banshee but sucked :( Harms arrived midrace and was looking strong. WesE was looking stylish as always. Was great to see everyone. Especially stoked to see the new Ga. blood representing. John Leathers, Byron (last name?) is brand new to slalom and was look very strong, and Alan Benson. Mr. Goad w/family in tow, always groovy.

See Y'ALL tomorrow night. Gotta work Saturday and will probably be late. Keep a conehead position open for me please....G'night....

Vlad, I suggest 39mm wheels for the GS (for you). 99A hardness sounds about right. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_106.gif' border=0></a>

yeah, two, just in case i need to fly back

I can pick up Jeff Boswell (there's also room for one more) from ATL at 2:30 PM on Friday. If anyone knows directions to the GS race site, could you point me to them or e-mail them through this forum...

Is the GS hill fast? Is it better to use urethane wheels on Saturday?

Strange, but we only got about 2 inches. Seneca, South Carolina, about an hour and a half northeast got 7 inches. We had strong winds (maybe 40mph gusts) for a couple of hours before sun up Tuesday, but that was the extent of it.

Tom - somebody turned in the dude living on Trade Street, there was an article about the police finding drugs (unspecified) and porn mags out there.

Guess they didn't see that issue of Slalom! I left behind.

Skateboard racing lives in the south! It's on!

set up the outlaw course last night

Low J wet his pants on his first run (this on a Comet w/ Radikal front/offset Indy rear & Avalons) but he eventually got it

my only worry is that it might be over 1000 feet (my timer only goes 1000 ft)

around 35 cones - 3 pumpable straight sections at the top, but if you build too much speed you won't be able to handle the wide offsets in the middle of the course

after the wide offsets, another pumpable straight section before one wide offset stinger at the end to keep you honest and then a dive for the finish line

Friday night is the racers race, Saturday is for the spectators

Is that from last years race?

Where were those chicks on my birthday?

Can I put my drink there?

Red Clay is going to be out of hand. I predict a full scale sacking of Athens old school style, you know, like the Persians in 480 BC.

And remember, what happens in Athens stays in Athens.

Eddie Martinez, Texas Mullet! HAHAHA, stop I just wet my pants a little.

Stanziale, don't forget this year's newest award sponsored by me

It's the Local's Rule award

Pabt's Blue Ribbon, a Varsity voucher, and a roll of Cottonelle goes to the fastest one of you local goobers not named 66 or Thompson.

Missing teeth, carrying the KKK Mastercard, or being married to a blood relative all take .5 seconds off your time. Hard core locals can combine all three for a hat trick of 1.5 seconds towards winning this Valuable Award.

What can I say. I'm a giver.

It's all coming together here in the land of Red Clay - you all are in for a very good time.

The Red Clay Cup t-shirts have arrived (limited edition, these will be handed out to racers on the hill Friday and Saturday nights) - lots of people have asked me about getting them a Red Clay Skateboard Racing Team shirt this summer, well, unless you've got nephews named Jared and Clayton, the only way to get one is to race in Athens next week.

Local press is promising full blown coverage next week, and a CNN affiliate will be out getting footage.

Monster Energy Drinks is bringing hot babes to bend over and pick up cones

Terrapin Brewing is flowing the adult beverages for the post race par-tays

Lots of schwag has been promised, but alas, none has arrived (sorry)

If we can just make it through Hurricane Frances (which is threatening to dump massive amounts of rain here in Georgia on Labor day), I hope we'll fall back into our pattern of summertime drought and very little rain this summer (we only had 6 days of rain in August, and only one of those was of any significance)

Please, if you can, Paypal your entry from the NCDSA Contest Calendar ( http://www.ncdsa.com/contest_registrati ... testID=142 ) before coming to town. I'd prefer not to be dealing with any amounts of cash on Friday or Saturday (except what I plan on forking over to the winner - $500 each night!!!) I need to firm up my block of rooms with the Courtyard by Marriot, and I don't want to end up paying for rooms that don't get used (i.e. if you signed up, show up or delete your name from the NCDSA Contest Calendar)

Some big names that haven't signed up have indicated they'll be here, I have a feeling the cup ain't going back to Flor'duh this year.

Oh, and let's show our support for the guys doing the freestyle demo - I want them to come back next year and run a full fledged contest in combo with the slalom race and our first ever bowl riding contest here in Athens.
