[FCR 2003] Breckenridge High Peaks Drifter 2003
Posted: Thu Feb 20, 2003 9:03 pm
Here are the vitals on the Breckenridge race.
Dates: Friday June 6, Sat. June 7, & Sunday June 8, 2003.
Events: Friday afternoon - SlalomCross
Saturday - Dual GS
Sunday - Dual TS
Evening festivities in Breck on Friday and Saturday.
The Friday event will be similar to the Bahne Slalom Cross. The race starts at 2 PM. Reason for the late start is to give Friday travelers a chance to fly in and make it to the event. Additionally the Friday event is hoped to make the evening news in Denver/Front Range and draw a crowd for Saturday and Sunday.
Friday and Saturday events are at Beaver Run Resort This resort is slope side on the ski mountain. The resort was chosen for the race site because of the excellent roadway, the venue, and the willingness of resort management to anchor the event on site. The resort will be offering very affordable lodging packages on site.
The Sunday event is back down town in the center of Breckenridge on Washington and Main. The race will be similar to last year although a bit more tight, and more gates.
In all races a foot drag stop will be required. Do NOT come expecting a nice gentle run out. The foot drag stop is totally doable. Talk to anyone who raced last year, with the exception of Sandy Kirby. Don't ask her.
If you have any questions about the event please post me a private message and i will get back to you. More details on the way.
Gary
