[2010] The International Slalom Challenge Spring [Postponed]

The International Slalom Challenge
Morro Bay , California

October 10th and 11th, 2009 <--- Dates changed from Oct 2009 to Spring 2010

Sunday, October 11th <--- Dates changed from Oct 2009 to Spring 2010
Morro Bay Boulevard (fresh black asphalt)
Quadruple Slalom (head to head to head to head)
Single lane qualifying – one qualifying run
Lane choice based on qualifying time
4 courses – 4 man heats
Double elimination format
Top two racers in each heat advance to winner’s bracket
Bottom two go to loser’s bracket
When there are four racers left, one race will determine 1-4 placing

False start equals DQ
No timed cone penalties
Hit “X” you’re ok, hit “X” + one you’re out
No clock will be used in the H to H to H to H racing.
Finish will be determined by “FinishLynx” photo finish system

48 spots
32 qualifiers

Entry fee: $125
Purse:
1st place minimum of $1,000
2nd – 4th – TBD
Equal 5th – TBD
Equal 9th – TBD
Equal 17th – TBD will receive a minimum of $50

One and Done 50 Cone Challenge
On Saturday afternoon on a new bike path that runs along the harbor to Morro Rock we will set-up a starting ramp and 50 cones. No practice, one run only. Fastest time wins. The path has a very slight grade.

Purse:
1st place minimum of $200

Leave to Jack to come up with a new format of racing. Maybe this is just what slalom needs!
I'm in. Where do I pay my entry fee to secure one of those 48 spots?

The Morro Bay race will be held in Spring 2010 instead of October 2009.

That is great new to me whom been pretty much out off racing this year. I hope to be back between the cones in 2010. The USD is prefered currency right now so who knows. I loved it last time I was in Morro bay.

Jack, do you want to post the update to this? I think you've moved this to Fall 2010 and it is now a boardercross yes?
