[FCR 2003] Eight Foot Start Ramps At Morro Bay

Post by Wesley Tucker » Sun Jun 22, 2003 6:17 pm

I hope everyone has noticed a little bit of information from the 2003 World's sign up sheet:

"The TS will be in Morro Bay with an 8' tall starting ramp."

So anyone who is practicing on the 4' "s" ramp FCR currently uses might want to start all over again. I wasn't at the 2001 race, but I wonder if this ramp will be the same style "flat" ramp some races used two years ago?

Anyway, keep this in mind when preparing to head to California. I guess one point to make is these will be new ramps unveiled at Morro and thus maybe no one will have the advantage of lots of practice with the standard start gate.

Hey Wes,

It will probably be closer to 6'. I just hope to generate a bit more speed for the Main Street venue.

They ran 4ft wood ramps that were pretty skinny at Gruningen, and after a few practice runs, it was no big deal. I think 5-6ft ramps would be cool as long as they have some width.

The regular FCR ramps will be used at all Worlds events.
